Mission: Episode 1: Palingenesis
Location: Promenade/Infirmary

ON

It had been a few days since she had arrived and she was starting to settle in, even if she still was wearing her divisional blue uniform rather than the customary command red. She had decided that as Admiral Fredricks hadn't made it an order... or at least not a direct one, she didn't need to cement her new position by accepting the command divisional switch... Or at least not until Fredricks visited the station. Instead she had thrust herself into getting things back to a state of normalcy for the station... even if she was still waiting on news of a memorial for Commodore Haistro.

She pushed the plate aside, the Bajoran fruit bread and sweet cheese breakfast now finished only her fresh fruit juice, something from Ba'ku. It was red, similar in shape to a strawberry but doubly as sweet and more fleshy in consistency. She had no idea what it was called but she would certainly be trying it again.

"Admiral," Liam said passing on the promenade. "Good morning. Oh wow, they have those Bajoran strawberries in again."

He knew Amia was partial to them. It was rare getting shipments in here. He would nip in and get some he decided. "You know Niska makes an amazing cake with those if you ever get chance to pop in the Ferryman."

Amia was also just arriving for breakfast and was very happy to see both her favourite Bajoran Strawberries and also some Tekoberry Juice from Ba'Ku as well. This was going to be a great morning. She beamed looked around for a waitress - she hoped they had those here..... perhaps she should follow Liam inside - in case she'd misunderstood how this particular little food establishment was run.

She must have been looking a bit lost as she stood, trying to make a decision about whether to sit down and hope a waiter or server would appear, or if she should risk looking as if she was stalking Liam and follow him inside like an abandoned chick.

"Doctor" Leena caught sight of the stations new Chief Medical Officer. "I'm sorry I haven't been down to greet you yet and that I missed your arrival. How are you settling in?"

Liam wandered back having seen Amia was here. Smiling he wordlessly handed over his coffee to her and walked back in to grab another swinging the large bag of purchased Bajoran fruit. He wondered if the Admiral had an inkling they had a long history together.

Amia accepted Liam's coffee as if it were something he usually did, to hand his over to her and go back for another for himself. She just thanked him as she took it and sipped it with no hesitation or worry that it might not be to her liking. She didn't ask exactly what blend it was, she didn't check how much cream it had in it and she didn't wince that it had no sweetener or sugar in it either. She just knew it was how she liked it.

Just a moment or two later, taking the tell-tale coffee with her to sit opposite the Admiral, Amia answered the question Leena had just asked.

"Hello Sir" she replied, well aware that the Admiral was not male but sticking to the standard formal greeting for someone of as high a rank as an Admiral. "Yes, thank you. It's a big place and it will some years I think before I'll be able to find my way around it all, but I'm at home in Sickbay at least and I've now found my way to where the breakfasts, great coffee, and home comfort fruits are, then I think I can say, I've arrived."

Amia flashed a small but lightweight smile as she used the word 'years' to describe how long it would take to stop being totally lost here without a nav-bot on her wrist.

Liam returned with another coffee and 2 extra bags, sat down with them both and started dividing out bajoran strawberries into 3 bags. He had ordered a pastry which was presently being warmed up but whereas he knew Amias coffee order after years of being in each others lives he had no clue what she would like to eat presently and the CO was already finishing up her meal and seemed ok on the coffee front.

Luckily he had got Cade to school and his run in already today. It wasn't as fun running on a station as down on the planet but several times round the promenade and he could eat the pastry and not feel guilty. In fact Cade had expressed a desire to start running with him.

"You haven't found biscuits or cake yet. I'll sort both of you out," Liam said simply.

"Noooo!" Amia said in alarm. "Thanks but this is plenty, really! I'm watching all this extra padding these days" she gestured vaguely towards her middle. "I sat around a lot while I was off sick!" she explained with a slight blush.

"I see no extra padding," Liam said simply. He decided to change the subject. Weight and women's feelings on weight was never a good area in his opinion.

"So Ladies what's on the agenda today? Besides breakfast that is?"

Amia started to smile and opened her lips to answer that with a quip but then thought, just in time, that it would be best to let the Admiral answer first, so she just managed to stop herself in time. She looked over at Liam and back to Leena expectantly.

Leena had to admit, he was something of a charmer and she could tell from the crooked smile he had picked up on her stray thought the instant it had occurred to her. She didn't mind, he was a genuine enough man and if anything like his brother she could certainly understand the Doctors coy little smile. If she had been in a position then she would have snapped up the other Reynolds brother when she had the chance!

"Well now that I have breakfast out of the way, I need to check on Copernicus and Lieutenant Commander Yoshida. We have a mission departing shortly to survey the system".

The Admiral added, wanting to excuse herself so she could leave these two to catch up.

Liam nodded. "I need to catch up with Lieutenant Commander Toshida too. Have a good day Maam."

Leena smiled warmly at the pai as she excused herself, stepped down from the replimat and back into the growing crowd, the day was starting to pick up and the civilian population that had by all reports been absent only a few months ago seemed to be expanding before her very eyes.
