Mission: Episode 6 - Point Of Enlightenment
Location: Ward Room

ON

In the Infirmary assisting the Medical Staff, Lieutenant Abrasax, with a few specialists from Sciences. "It worked Doctor?" He asked, as he watched Doctor D'BrooNi-Haistro working.

"It most certainly did," she said tired but happily. "Computer have all senior staff report to sickbay for vaccination."

"Acknowledged," it replied simply.

"Come on Lieutenant," she indicated a biobed. "Lets ensure your safe."

All the worst affected patients were treated and recovering nicely now. Time to roll out the cure to the crew and work out a schedule to get all the public.

"Yes Doctor," Abrasax obediently accepted the inoculation. "Don't forgot yourself." He smiled.

Doctor Nyasha Poyo, on loan from the Cardassian Starship Thrarim, checked the inventory information that she had available. While she had enjoyed her time on the Space Station, she had been very careful not to push the limits of her people's new mandates regarding cultural contamination. Still, she could see the benefits of the Federation and its ways. "The medical replicators are able to reproduce the treatment."

A short time later...

Word had arrived on his desk rapidly, the cure had been found. Despite his own feeling towards the humanoids, this still meant his own people would be saved from whatever effect this virus would have on them, even if they had taken measures to ensure their survival.

He had called the senior staff to the ward room, hurriedly making his way there himself when he bumped into Commander Horn.
"Are the rumours true Commander?"

Hiro joined the two as he walked up to them from behind. "Please, say yes. We've been living in a horror movie, and that's no exaggeration."

"If you are referring to the virus being eradicated, then yes the rumours are true," Peter answered, "we have a cure, otherwise I would not be here." He offered a paper thin smile. "I am pleased to note that my son is well on his way to recovery as well."

"Thats fantastic news" Keiben offered something of a weak smile, already knowing that the young man was aware something was not as it should be... Maybe it was time to bring Horn into the fold. Now was not that time though. The three men stepped into the ward room, finding the others had already assembled with two notable exceptions, Doctor D'BrooNi and Lieutenant Abrasax who were no doubt still on their way from the Infirmary.

Lieutenant Read entered the ward room trying to be as quiet as possible. He knew hadn't made friends since his arrival and had definitely put people's backs up. He knew he would get some looks but just wanted to stay out of way as much as possible and not offend anyone else.

He quickly took the nearest seat and slid into, placing the PADD he held in his hand on the large table in front of him.

Alena entered the ward room quietly. She was tired as heck. She had been going through paperwork for counseling session for all those who had been affected by the sickness and their relatives. Taking a seat, she looked around. She noticed an unfamiliar face. If she recalled correctly, he was Lieutenant Read. He seemed rather uncomfortable.

Carter was next to arrive. She acknowledged those already present and sat down in her usual spot.

"While we wait for the stragglers" Keiben started the meeting as he walked the length of the table. "Lets have a status report from all divisions".

Hiro followed Commodore Haistro and sat down in the first empty seat he saw. "Operations is lagging behind maintenance and upgrades on the station. More than 60 percent of the people fell victim to the virus. It simply was not possible to do everything with the people that remained. It will take a few weeks to get everything back in order again."

"Security has mostly been quiet with the station in lock down. We've had a few civilians that thought they were above the rules but we were able to keep things civil. No arrests made, however, we have had more calls regarding domestic disputes. Hopefully, with the cure being rolled out and people being able to get back to their daily routine and lives, things should start quieting down." Lieutenant Read explained as he read the information off the padd infront of him.

Mel walked in with the Science chief. Happy to be out of her hazmat suit. Unfortunately there wasn't time for a quick shower. She had too many people to administer the cure too. Luxury's like a peaceful Sonic shower would have to wait longer. Then there was also the issue of where she would have it. She did not want to go back to the quarters shared with her husband. She would have to go pay for a private place.

Abrasax had somewhat forgone taking care of himself as the cure was all that mattered. They had to be forced to sit and eat at regular intervals, and sleep was something that simply took them at their limits. Not always at the most opportune locations either.

“Repairs to the Cerberus are complete and she’s ready to resume duty.” Lillian stated, Keeping her report short and to the point.

The Denobulan/Antaran hybrid had found himself, at one point, at one of the console tables, face to the surface and drooling after about at least 5 hours sleep. At the time they were close.

Now he followed the Medical chief into the Ward room, ironically named, very happy but tired at everyone's efforts to find that cure.

Abrasax gently slid into a chair and almost fell asleep instantly, clearly surprised by how tired he felt.

"Don't keep us in suspense Doctor, Lieutenant..." Keiben was genuinely eager to know, the responsibility of command sitting on his shoulders and if his civilian population started to die then it would raise questions from command and the next phase of the endeavour would be in jeopardy.

"We have a cure sir," Mel stated pulling out a hypospray and readying it. "I have already got my staff rolling it out. Lets get you all injected," she stated approaching her husband. D'BrooNi squirmed inside her more than the baby kicking as she got closer to him. Something was definitely wrong with Keiben.

"I've already been done." Lillian said, drawing little attention to herself, nothing out of the ordinary.

"Well it couldn't have come at a better time" especially given the plans were now in motion. Holt, Han and Tobru had sent word that they had achieved their objective. The final stages now sat with Haistro.
"How quickly can you roll this out to the general population?"

"I believe as we left to report on the cure that Medical staff were already working on getting it out to everyone." Abrasax replied with a nod at Mel, somewhat asking for confirmation.

"They are but if you have a list of importance after the worst hit i.e. key workers in certain areas we can ensure they are prioritised to get the station back to where it should be," Mel commented.

"Lieutenant Read, can you lend your security teams to assist the good Doctor and Lieutenant to roll this out as quickly as possible?"

Keiben was eager to get this chapter of the station closed. Something they could all put behind them and continue on with what was waiting. The problem was he needed the Trill Doctor right now. The sooner her work was done the soon he could take care of that loose end.

"Of course, Commodore." Rohan replied with a nod. "I'll have all medically trained security officers report to the doctor within the hour." He added as he made a note on his padd.

"I have Medically trained Science officers assisting as well," Abrasax chimed in with a weary smile.

"Very good. Doctor, Lieutenant" directing his gaze at Mel and Abrasax "You are dismissed. I'm sure you have far more important things to do doing right now than sitting in a meeting!"

Keiben ignored the look he got from Mel as he turned his attention to the rest of the gathered officers.
"Please ensure you have all of your people attend the infirmary for the treatment. Now, is there anything further?"

"Yes Charlie is no longer on the station, I mean yeoman Brooks nor Engineer Sato," Mel stated. "I just tried to message her, to come get inoculated and the computer has stated they left together in a Cardassian craft. How they evaded the lockdown measures I have no idea I assume Minka was more the talented one there but we have to find them. If they were in any way infected then they could spread this further. I'll leave that with you to investigate Lieutenant Read as we need to move and inoculate so many but please keep me informed of my daughter as a priority."

Read's eyes narrowed as he lifted his padd and made a note. "To my knowledge, there hasn't been any departures from the station since we locked the station down. I'll start an investigation straight away." Read said, curious as to how this happened and none of the security protocols had been set off.

"Indeed" Keiben added, flashing a glance at Carter. What had happened to their kin that had been hosted by the child?

"If there is nothing more, you are all dismissed. Commander Carter, please remain!"
