Mission: Episode 5 - Objects In Motion
Location: Starfleet Command Offices - Promenade

ON

The sector command offices had been well underway before the incident with the Romulans and surprisingly they were fairly untouched from the damage the Romulans had caused. The promenade beyond however was a different story. Keiben had spent the morning with his jacket off, his undershirt sleeves rolled up and helping to clear away the debris on the promenade. Niska had been round several times with refreshments, Jaas'rah with food to keep the workers going. In many ways it had felt like a community pulling together and it had been something of a lift in spirits to see it.

He did have a meeting due to start with Captain Holt in regards to a full damage report, injury and casualty reports and so forth. Turned out it was starting at the right time as he retreated to his suit of offices, his left clutching at a deep cut that had just opened as he had lifted some jagged metal, he was fumbling around for the medical kit near his desk when he heard the door part in the atrium.

Meanwhile, the door to the commodores office opened and a Carter entered. She paused for a moment. “Are you ok Sir? Shall I send for one of the medical staff?” She asked, looking at his hand.

"Doctor D'BrooNi will be here shortly but the med kit is just over there if you wouldn't mind!" he pointed at the unopened crate by the door to his office.
"Whats the damage to Cerberus?"

Carter held out a PADD. “My after action report Sir. There was minor damage to the Cerberus during the encounter with the Romulans but the multi vector assault mode worked very well. She’s currently undergoing repairs. Covered in my report is the loss of the Solvang. I was forced to destroy it to keep it from falling into Romulan hands.”

"Where there any survivors?" he asked hopeful that someone made it from the Solvang.

Mel walked in and immediately her eyes went to her husbands hand. "Let me sort that. Are they?" she said to Lieutenant Carter. "If you need a team or even the new med ship I can get right on that."

"We managed to rescue 20 survivors from the Solvang. They were transferred to the infirmary when the Cerberus docked." Lillian reported. "We managed to download their main computer but we're still going through the information to discover what happened. It was like the ship had been ripped apart."

Mel nodded. Quietly she said to her husband, "I may be late home tonight."

Promenade

"Damn!" Jon shouted sparks fell down on his face. The welding torch splattering from the Cardassian metal. He shut it down, pulled off the goggles he had been wearing and wiped his face. He muttered as he pulled himself up and grabbed a tricorder. "Damn cheap Cardassian's" the tricorder confirmed his suspicions, impurities in the bulkhead metal. He sighed and decided to take a break, he leaned against the wall. Jon poured a canister of luke warm water down his throat and then then on his face.

“You look like hell, Chief.” Hiro said and threw him a smile when he passed Chief Stoun. “Keep up the good work.”

"Thank you sir, feeling like hell too."

Tamaska hadn't gone back to her office as of yet, she'd been out helping to clear away rubble from when the Romulans had attacked near the upper promenade and observation deck. She might be the one over seeing the station itself whilst Commodore Haistro was taking care of fleet operations. It didn't mean though, that she was going to just sit at her desk and look pretty.

One of the people on her staff came up to Tamaska, when she tossed another armload of debris into a trash receptacle.

"Captain, a reminder that there is a meeting that you scheduled which will be happening in a few minutes." the ensing reminding Tam.

"Oh of course, thank you, I'll be there shortly." Tam responded.

"Maybe you might want to get a little bit cleaned... up?" the ensign commented, looking pointedly at Tam's uniform.

"Nope I'll just brush off the dust and it will suffice." Tam remarked, clapping the dirt off the gloves she had been using. She tapped on her com badge, "Junjie, how are things at the Science department? Can you spare a few minutes for the meeting I scheduled?"

Junjie tapped his combadge. We're ok down here. Just some annoyance with minor clean up and checking to see if the experiments that we're conducting were undamaged. We are going to have to restart on experiment on crystalline formations however..." He paused a moment. " Ah Yes, You said something about a meeting I believe? I shall be there soon. And don't forget we have a lunch date today.

Then she sent out a call for those who were to be at the meeting. "This is a reminder, we've got a meeting in ten minutes. See you in the Commodores Office."

Ensign Brodie found himself on the Promenade inside of the health club and taking a brief break after setting up the free weight rack and placing them back on the shelf. He glanced over to Isabella as she finish cleaning up the area she had been working in. " I guess we haven't done to bad so far, It's starting to look like a health club again. But we still have a lot more to do. " He said to her.

Isabella only gave a nod as she continued on.

Commodores Office

Keiben was still listening to Carters report on the situation with the Romulans, Mel standing over him just finishing up the dermal regenerators healing of the cut on his hand when the doors parted.

"Captain, Commanders, Chief. Please come on in... We can get started!"

Tamaska took a seat in one of the chairs, noting the injury being healed, setting her gloves upon her lap. She dusted off a little bit of dirt she just noticed on her sleeve. "Looks like you've been busy." she remarked. "Looks like the Commander is taking care of it rather well, like she normally does." giving a bit of a smile.

The door opened with that rather loud noise Hiro got used to on the Cardassian made station. He found himself a seat near Tamaska and sat down.

Junjie walked in still brushing off the dust and sat down next to Tamaska. He looked at her and grinned. " It appears that you've been rather busy yourself. " He looked around taking a read on the room to see how serious this briefing was going to be. " So I wonder what this briefing is about ? " He asked her quietly.

"I actually called it, Junjie" Tamaska giving a chuckle.

Tia walked in. She felt a bit under the weather, much like how she had felt on the freighter they had escaped on. She coughed slightly whilst entering the room fully and grimaced as she attempted to smile. There was perspiration on her brow but she was assured in sickbay that she was fine... or at least she was when she was scanned.

Mel cast an eye at Tia. She looked pale. And hot. "Would you like some water Commander?" she asked.

Jon had more or less cleaned himself up before walking in. His uniform sleeves still rolled up and singed from welding. He leaned against the back of the wall. "How ya'll doing?"

Tia looked over at Mel with somewhat glazed eyes and gave a small nod, "Yes, I think that would be a good idea. I'm feeling a little dehydrated." she walked towards the good doctor.

Kei stretch his hand that had only moments ago been injured but now healed through the wonders of modern medicine. His eyes caught each person in turn as he moved to drop down into the chair behind his desk.
"Come on then people... What's the full extent of the damage?"

Junjie spoke up. " Engineering already came by and repaired our most serious problem. We had a damaged support beam that could have collapsed and caused some serious damage, we got lucky." He stated. " Other than that, we had a few minor experiments destroyed and some machinery that we are repairing at this time. Other than that we're good in the science department. "

"There was some damage in the Arboretum but that is being addressed by crew members. There was some damage in the theater as well as the sound and lighting department. Lighting fixtures will need to be replaced, there will be a delay in the productions that had been planned." Tamaska added.

Keiben looked to Chief Stoun and Doctor D'Broo'Ni and winced internally. He knew their reports would be far more damning than the others. "What about you two?"

"Two deaths. Crushed under that support beam," Mel said sadly. "The rest luckily were sprains and the odd broken bone.

Interrupting the report, a voice came over the intercom, there was a sound of static then a crackling sound. "Er sorry to interrupt we've got a bit of an emergency down on level 35, we've got a leak in the waste reclaimation area as well as the fluid storage area. I need a bit of help. This is Petty Officer Shailyn Lothian. Chief Stoun and Lieutenant Yoshida and any other available engineering personnel, please come assist. I don't want this to head into the secondary computer core. Damned Romulan attack!!" then the communication is turned off.

Keiben looked to Stoun and nodded, allowing both Stoun and Yoshida to retreat from the room at pace before he looked back to the others.

"I think that answers that... Not good!" he said rather grimly. "Captain, I will contact Starfleet and get as many Cardassian supplies and parts that I can redirected to us as soon as possible."

His words trailed off as she spotted someone loitering in the doorway, he waved her in wondering if this would be the moment he could get his mother into a room with Mel.
"Is there any other business?"

" The secondary computer core? That isn't good at all. " Stated Junjie. " That's the backup system for the entire station as you know Commodore. But I do have a suggestion, if worse comes to worse and the system is effected we will have to replace the entire secondary core. I propose that we make a compressed files on several probes which could be stored on the Copernicus and downloaded into the new core should be necessary. It would save time and have backups on all logs and reports on the station. If it isn't needed, we'll just wipe the information from the probes. What do you think Sir? I can have my team on it and ready to back everything up with your approval. "

Maeve gave a nod and moved towards the doorway and paused before stepping in. Then moved to one side to stay out of the way. She was ignoring Mel for the moment just looking at the others.

Tia really wasn't feeling very well. Her hand shook as she held the glass and fortunately the doctor had moved forward to speak about her department. Tia felt a strange sensation run from her nose and as she placed her thumb towards it there was a spot of blood, a nosebleed. She quickly grabbed something to stem it, fortunately it was quite a small bleed at the moment. She placed the glass down rather loudly due to her shakes, she was trying so hard to control them. Along with the slight sweat she had on her brow, the tired looking slightly bloodshot eyes, she had looked better in her life.

"Sorry, security at the moment is fine. If we are getting supplies then I'd request replacement shield emitters, and some more Starfleet issue hand held weapons. We are low on them." Tia took a big inhalation in the hopes she would feel better but it did nothing much for her. "I have no other business at the moment, should anything else come up I will speak to Captain Holt." she pulled the material at her nose and looked at it, the bleeding had stopped for the moment.

She was shaky, a little lightheaded and felt like the environmental controls were seriously out of control but... she would not fall to whatever this silly little thing she had was.

"No you won't," Mel said having kept watching her. "You will accompany me back to sickbay. I want to check you out again Commander."

"I am fine doctor, really. I've just been working myself a bit too hard. It is just a nosebleed." Tia replied. She could be quite stubborn and bullheaded about her own health. Some had mistaken her for a doctor herself the way she almost refused to be treated, or as the Captain and Admiral she used to be and avoided physicals.

"Don't make me issue an order, Commander," Mel said firmly.

"Alright doctor." Tia reneged. "I've never been one to anger a ship, or station's, doctor."

"I think we had best bring this to a close... Junjie call on whoever you need but could you manage the main computer repairs. Chief Stoun and Lieutenant Yoshida have enough on their plates. Commander Tobru, you best go with my wife... She isn't accustomed to not getting her own way!"

Kei smiled feeling a little concern for the stations security chief but waved at his mother to remain.

Tamaska rose as well, looked like it was going to be a busy day for everyone. She passed by Meave who just gave a nod, and Tamaska gave a return nod, and a sidelong glance at Meave as she passed.

"She isn't accustomed to much right now," Mel quipped probably not as quietly as she should have but Keiben had pissed her off the other night. She heaved herself out of her chair. as clearly her "loving" husband wasn't going to help. Hell he couldn't even apologise it seemed. She was just expected to patch him up, shut up and follow orders it seemed. He certainly wasn't anything like the man she had married presently. She really hoped it was a phase he was going through with his mother appearing again in his life out of nowhere.

"Come on Commander. Let me take another look at you," Mel said louder. "And the test results should be in for the rest you came in with earlier."

Junjie rose to leave with the others. " Aye Sir!! We'll get on it right away and start preparing for the transfer and backup protocols as soon as possible. " He turned to Tamaska. " I'll see you for dinner later on tonight Tam. " with that said he quickened his pace to attend to his task.

Kei watched them all leave, the doors sliding closed behind them before looking to his mother.
"What can I do for you Mother?"

"Well Keiben I wanted to apologize for my abrupt leaving." Meave began.
