Mission: Episode 5 - Objects In Motion
Location: Medical Facility - Olifumi

ON

The room looked like a warehouse of sorts, not what you would expect from a medical facility but Tia assumed that Zav was talking them in an alternate route from the usual clientele would enter.

The smell of the storeroom was pungent, almost inhumanely so that would cause even the most strong willed to take pause. Tia looked at Lyras, her eyes saying be ready but also this denoting a slight bit of concern for their safety. She needed him to understand things could, and probably would, go south in the moments to come.

"So, where's your contact Zav?" Tia asked as she turned the man to slow down.

"Just here." he pointed to a male Nausicaan and two trailing friends.

The all wore lab coats but you could tell underneath they were packing weaponry... and truly, when was the last time you saw, or heard of, a Nausicaan scientist?

The three of them walked up and stood before the other three and Tia stepped forward. She noticed a small case in the lead Nausicaan's hand and she smirked.

"You looking to buy?" the lead Nausicaan asked gruffly.

Tia noticed Zav making himself look scarce, the slow shuffling off to the side very noticeable to those that had been trained to be observant.

"Once my colleague has checked the goods. Maybe then we can talk about payment."

"As you wish." he offered the case towards Lyras.

Fumbling with the medical equipment he wasn't used to using, Lyras wished he had at least some kind of Starfleet medical equipment that he could use. Still, he did the best he could as he took a scan, then nodded towards Tia. "This is it," he confirmed as he took a quick glance around. He too had noticed the Tellarite had disappeared, and he took note of their other company. To him, they didn't look like medical professionals at all and he tensed just a little, ready to move just in case.

Zav smiled slightly as he felt he was safe now with his other cohorts, he looked at his compatriots and said, "alright lets take care of them they killed our friend."

::Outside::

"SuvwI' jIH. pagh be'nalwI" L'johK mutter under his breath in a less than enthusiastic tone, his eyes still focused through the scope of his rifle, taking in the different entry and exit points that he could see one at a time in a continual sequence.

::Back in the factory::

"Let's get one thing straight..." Tia said as she began to back away from the group. She signalled Lyras with her hand to begin to move slowly to the door they'd came in from. "Your friend isn't dead, just very badly bruised, possibly a bit broken." Tia kept talking to distract them long enough to find cover as her hands began to hover around her waist. "If anything we did him a favour, his face looks better NOW!" she yelled as she opened her long red leather coat and pulled out two hand pistols.

Both she and Lyras ducked down behind some crates. "L'johK, we may need some divine intervention!" she yelled over their communications device whilst popping up every so often to lay down fire to stop their advance. Fortunately she got lucky and one of the Nausicaans walked into her line of fire and hit the ground.

More men appeared and things were going from bad to worse in a heartbeat.

Lyras crouches next to Tia, one hand clenched around his scanner, the other around the handle of his blade, ready to pull it from its sheath. "Why did you lie..." He hissed in low voice, just for her to hear. "The feline is dead..." He pulled her down as one of the men fired at them, the beam sizzling right over their heads. "What if you hold them off while I look for an exit? I am useless in a firefight..."

"I'm not openly trying to piss these people off even more than we have, and we left that bar pretty quickly. Cats have nine lives right?" Tia shrugged. "Maybe you caught him on an even number." Tia added as she fired over the top of the containers.

There was a hit on the top of the container she was ducking behind that caused sparks to fly as it melted the top. Some of these struck Tia's face leaving a few small burn marks. Tia swore as they hit her.

"Yes, please look for an exit but please be careful." she sighed. "If you are useless in a firefight we should aim to not get you into one... but just in case." she handed Lyras an extra pistol from her thigh. "Best be safe."

Lyras didn't take the pistol, looking at it in a mis of horror and disgust. "I am useless as marksman," he explained quickly, "because I do not use such weapons." He started to crawl backwards towards where they had actually come in. "Just cover me," he suggested, flinching as a shot barely missed him.

Tia shook her head as Lyras went off. 'Stupid man.' she thought. If he got into a close range scuffle then he surely couldn't miss. She could have made it an order but she never did like forcing weapons on people, even if she had done so many times as part of her Resistance days.

She popped her upper body of the top of the crates and laid covering fire so Lyras could move. There were more of them now making it increasingly hard to get her own shots off.

Tia decided to make a break for Lyras also as they came to the large door. "There are too many of them and we need to get out of here, now!" she gestured for Lyras to stand back as she whipped her hand under her jacket to the rear of her belt.

Explosives, small but enough to blow the hinges off the door for them to escape.

Tia set them up and, under fire, moved to a safe location to blow the door. Lyras was in tow of course.

::Outside::

The fire fight had started outside, L'johK had expended the power cell on his rifle far quicker than he had liked. He had abandoned it, dropping down from the rooftop and charging down the street towards the double doors but had been caught off guard by a small group of Orions, not one of them smaller than he was and most larger.

His Mek'leth was drawn, every muscle in his body tensed ready for the assault.

::Back in the factory::

An explosion rocked the courtyard the facility backed onto. Debris floated down like hundreds of tiny angry fireflies looking for a place to land. Smoke billowed from the doorway as some of the frame, and inside of the facility, had caught flame.

Out of the smoke came 2 rushed looked individuals. A lady in red and a man in a hurry. Around them were flashing beams of various colours, their assailants not far behind them.

Tia could be seen firing behind herself as they ran for further cover but as they got close there was a blast.

A concussion grenade thrown at their feet and even though Tia pushed Lyras further forward out of the way it went off forcing them both back by the power of the blast itself.

'!SMASH!"

A light wet liquid, a splash if you like ended up on Tia's face. As she touched it and looked at it, it was red.

The realisation hit her and with wide eyes she looked over at Lyras.

The push from his teammate, along with the force of the grenade had sent the hybrid Vulcan flying. While trying to protect their precious and possibly dangerous cargo, the force of it all had caused the contents to break and spill not only all over him, but onto his companion as well. A look of pure horror spread across his face as he tried to wipe most of it off.

"We need to get out of here, and get quarantined immediately," he breathed, visibly concerned as he still had open injuries that had only been swiftly looked after. "L'JokH should leave, or get us hazmat suits somewhere so we can safely leave together." He wondered if the Klingon would even consider leaving them behind.

Directly behind Tia and Lyras a deep rumble started before the wall was blown to shards which scattered in all directions, L'johK standing in the opening, several Orion bodies laying haphazardly around on the floor.

"What are you laying about for... We need to go!"

"Stay back!" Lyras ordered sharply, "we are likely infected, the samples are broken. Do not get closer to us!"

Tia watched as some of the sample seemed to turn into airborne particles, a mist formed as it began to evaporate in the planets air. The mist moved towards L'johK's head and he began to cough.

She sighed, "We need to try and get back to the shuttle and back to the station. Given we don't know exactly what we've landed ourselves in I'd rather we have Starfleet medical attention close by." she peered around the corner and shot an attacker coming for L'johK. "The quicker we move, the better." she gestured to the now new opening that L'johK had just made.

Lyras nodded, worry clear on his face. "I need something to cover myself with," he breathed, "I do not wish for this to spread to anyone else if I can avoid it." As a doctor he had the obligation to try and avoid it, even if he probably had little choice in the matter.

"Kid, you're taking fire, running for our lives... Now isn't the time. Now pick yourself up and move!"
Adams bellowed as he pulled Lyras to his feet. "I saw a landing port not far from here. Perhaps it would be best to find alternative transport from the planet. The authorities will no doubt be impounding our vessel as we speak!"

Tia nodded. "If they have known about us from the start, or planned this trap then it is safe to assume they've got our ship locked down." she responded as she threw her own photon grenade back at the exit from the facility. "At the very least we need to get a scan of ourselves with decent medical equipment. A freighter or transport may have something we can use."

"Follow me!"
Adams lead the way, ducking down a side street, powering on ahead, moving with a grace and speed that didn't seem to fit with his burly frame.

To be continued.....
