Tamaska had gotten word of Iy'dan's departure from the station, having received the notice of his transfer. The only thing that she could even think of doing was maybe either a small farewell dinner or just a little bit of tea and some chat. Either way, what ever it was decided, Iy'dan will be coming over.

Junjie tapped his combadge and called Tam. " Hey love, I'll be coming home a little early tonight. I've invited Iy'dan and his spouse over for drinks and dinner at our place at 1830 tonight. I think we can whip up something, he's been assigned to be the new CSO of Starbase 12. They're getting one of my best people and he deserves this promotion. Any ideas what we can make for supper tonight? " He asked.

"Something simple but tasty will work out. Um Chinese food? That will work out fine I believe. Quick, easy to make and also healthy." Tamaska replied. "Maybe some garlic ginger chicken would work well."

" That sounds wonderful, I can whip up some dim sum steamed pork buns and a vegetable fried rice to go with it. And how does almond jelly with tangerine sound for a light dessert? "

"That sounds amazing. I hope they will like the food." Tamaska responded eagerly waiting for Junjie as well as Vincent and Iy'dan to arrive.

Junjie glanced up at the desk chronometer and saw they still had the time to get these items prepared in advance. " I think they will find the food to their liking. I don't believe anyone has ever complained about our food before. Besides this is just a simple dinner and drinks to see off a friend who has earned a well deserved promotion. " Junjie stated with a warm smile. " Come to think of it, I don't think that I've ever met Iy'dan's partner before, Have I? " He asked Tamaska.

"No I don't think you have met him." Tamaska mused, "Missed opportunities, sad to say."

Vincent was a bit excited as well as nervous this was to be a goodbye dinner, and he was touched that Junjie and Tamaska was going to be putting together a dinner. He hoped they wouldn't be going too fancy for this meal. "things are certainly going to be missed around here Iy'dan" he said to his husband.

"I'm going to miss this place as well... I gotta say, that extra rank pipe feels heavy, not to mention off being in red!" slipping out of his red tunic that he had decided to try on just to see how it fit. "I don't really know Commander Holt too well!"

"Well she's a decent woman, and she's come into my place to work out and avail herself of a massage from time to time. Guess you could say she's sort of a woman of few words? I have heard her play though, she's performed upon the empty stage when she thought there was no one around. Possibly getting a feel for the acoustics." Vincent replied. "She won't bite, if you are worried about that?" teasing Iy'dan a little bit.

"I'm not... I just wish I'd had time to get to know her a little better... Come on, we should make a move!"
Iy'dan kissed his husband, lingering in that kiss for a fraction longer than he intended enjoying the sensation.

Vincent pulled Iy'dan in closer enjoying the extra long embrace and kiss. "I will always be addicted to you." he said softly, when they broke their kissing. "We need to go." giving a loving carress to his husband's cheek.

The chime was rang and Tamaska opened the door to let Iy'dan and Vincent in.

"Hi welcome to our humble abode." she said with a smile.

"Hello Tamaska." Vincent responded when she stepped to oneside to let he and Iy'dan in. "Fancy our surprise that you've invited us for dinner. And it certainly smells great." deciding to just shatter the ice completely by giving her an embrace.

Tam was definitely surprised but she wasn't going to push him away, she returned the embrace. "Thank you."

Vincent just grinned as knowing full well he took her by surprise. "Sorry with the exception of my adjusting your back, I was determined to give you an embrace like a friend."

Tamaska laughed.

She turned her attention to Iy'dan. "Greetings, we've not really had the chance to even chat and I am sorry to have been neglectful on that aspect"

" Ah.. Good your here. " Said Junjie from the food prep area as he was finishing up with some last minute touches on the dinner dishes. " Please come in and make yourselves comfortable, the food will be ready in a minute or two. "

"No need to apologise Commander... Things have been a little hectic since we arrived on the station!" Iy'dan handed Tamaska the bottle of wine, real wine at that. "As we are all off duty I thought we could enjoy a real bottle of wine!"

" Sounds delightful. " Said Junjie. As he brought the food from the kitchen and set it upon the table. He returned to the kitchen and brought back four wine glasses and added it to the setting. " The food is ready if you are. We have some garlic ginger chicken, some dim sum steamed pork buns, vegetable fried rice and for desert almond jelly with tangerine. I don't know if either of you have dietary restrictions, but if there's something that you'd like I could whip something up quick enough with no bother. "

"Thank you, Iy'dan" Tamaska replied accepting of the wine. She decided to just drop all formalities. "come have a seat at the table."

Vincent gave a nod, and taking Iy'dan by the hand walked to the table. "This looks lovely." he remarked at the setting of the table.

Tam once they were seated, she looked at Iy'dan. "Where are you heading off to for your next assignment?"

"I've been offered the Science Division Lead on Maelstrom Station with a view to take over as First Officer in about a years time."
It still sound strange to him even now. "And a promotion to Lieutenant Commander!"

"That is fantastic!" Tamaska exclaimed. "I hope they will consider themselves fortunate for that happening." Tamaska grinning.

"It'll just take getting some used to. The extra pip seems to carry a lot of extra weight!" the Trill jested.

Junjie started passing around the food dishes so that everyone could serve themselves. " There is truth in your statement about the extra weight of that pip. Yes it comes with extra duties and responsibility's and more burden of command. But it also means that Starfleet trust you enough, and that they know you can handle it as well. And if you ever need any extra help I'm just a sub space call away. Who knows we might even have both our departments work on a large scale project together some time in the future. "

Tamaska gave a bit of a nod where the mentioning of an extra pip added some weight. "I must agree with you, Iy'dan. It seemed almost overwhelming when I rose to my current rank, but hey you will be able to bear it , as it is an honor to have people trust you, trust in you to keep things moving forward."

Vincent who had dished himself up some food only nodded as his mouth was full of food, which he was enjoying it immensely.

Junjie was pleased that their guest were enjoying themselves, the food and the company were good and the work to send off a friend to his new assignment had paid off with memories that they would all remember fondly in the future. " I'm glad your enjoying the food, We have plenty so eat up if you'd like more. "

Tamaska had some tea then she spoke. "I am quite pleased that you will be getting a new rank and an outstanding position, I have been reading the glowing reports that Junjie has written about your work, so the place you are going to will be very lucky in having you on board."

"I've been reading up about the area. Starfleet pulled out after the Versuvi event. The region has been in chaos since and we have at least two colonies in the area that we have heard nothing from in quite a few years... It's going to be an interesting tour of duty!"
Iy'dan took a seat once he had helped himself to a glass of wine, pouring one for Vincent at the same time and passing it on to him as he sat down.

Junjie listened to the conversation. " The Versuvi incident was a rather nasty event, it takes a lot to drive Starfleet from an area. That and I hope that the two colonies are still intact and doing well, It certainly sounds like you've got your work cut out for you once you get there. " He interjected.

Vincent smiled his thanks to his husband then took a sip of the wine. "This is delicious. " he remarked. "I will be sad to leave but I am looking forward to being with Iy'dan and seeing the new place. I've got someone who is wanting to take over my establishment . Her name is Isabella Romero."

Junjie stroked his chin. " Well it's good to hear that we won't be losing a business on the promenade, it's hard enough to get good people out in this region of space at times. So what's this Isabella like? Do you think she can handle running the establishment? "

"I am quite certain she will be able to handle running the establishment. She's been quietly helping me to do so for a little bit now. Yes I am quite confiident." Vincent replied. "She had expressed interest in doing such."

Iy'dan just listened, taking the moment to savour this last moment. A moment of familiarity, comfort... Despite the alien origins of this station it had become his safe space, it had allowed him to come to terms with being joined and find his own being in the ocean of others swimming in his head... It was his home.
"I'm going to miss this place!" he announced without warning, lifting his glass. "A toast... New beginnings, no regrets and to the family we choose!"

Junjie lifted his glass and sipped at the wine. He then lifted his glass. " I'd also like to propose a toast. May your road always lead you back home to the ones you love. You'll be missed here as well, but you'll always find an open door and a warm welcome here. "

The raising of the glass, Vincent repeated the sentiments and also said, "To new horizons and my you and yours be blessed with good fortune as well." then he took a drink.

Tam said, "Here here." giving a smile.

" Your going to be missed around here, But you'll have new horizons to see and a good career path ahead of you. " He said. " Just remember, Just because there's a few lightyears between us doesn't mean that it can keep good friends apart. " He said expressing his sediment towards his friend.

"I highly agree with those sentiments." Vincent remarked finally. "And may the two of you find happiness as well."

The Trill found he was choking up a little, realisation on what he was leaving behind dawning on him. He raised his glass, smiling at the people... His friends before drinking deep in celebration.
