Mission: Episode 6 - Point Of Enlightenment
Location: Planet side
Timeline: pre-lockdown

ON:

Having left his family on the station in the care of a holonanny, Lhaes traveled down to the planet. How hard was it to find a single Betazoid in this newly founded colony after all? "Excuse me, I'm looking for Commander Reynolds. My name is Lhaes Sommers, I've just arrived here and I was directed towards him." He tapped a random male in blue on the shoulder as he spoke.

"Nice to meet you Lhaes. He's usually finished his run right about now. I can take you to his quarters. Are you new personnel?" he asked. "Im Joey. One of the engineers."

"Yes please take me to him, there's a few things I need to discuss with him. Whether I'm to be new personnel depends on what he tells me." The Romulan chuckled. "For all we know he tells me to, what's the phrase? Sod off?"

"I think its piss off if you're from Yorkshire, Earth but I get the gist," he grinned knowing full well Commander Reynolds had not turned anyone away yet.

"Housing we are expanding. Got the basics in, pretty small at the moment but the plan is to build up giving more space," he explained leading him to the Commanders.

"This is the one. If you're staying, come find me and I will get you a unit up and running."

"I would require a family unit, I have three children with me," Lhaes answered as he turned towards the indicated unit and knocked on the door. It opened within seconds, much to his surprise.

"I know you," Liam said dressed in a fresh uniform but his hair still a little wet. "No don't tell me. Its on the tip of my tongue .......... Melindas brother?" He said after a moment.

The Romulan nodded slowly. "Indeed," he smiled, ruffling his hair as if to make a point. "I know the resemblance is striking," he grinned. "Do you have a moment, or are you busy?"

"I have a moment. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Liam asked inviting him in. The quarters were small presently. He had seen the plans to add levels.

Soon this space they was kitchen, bathroom, lounge and sleeping would become just kitchen and stairs leading up 2 further floors for the rest. To be honest though he and Kaylee were managing just fine with what they presently had.

"I've just arrived with my family," the Romulan explained and I heard of your colony. Just tell me where I can be of most service. After all I've been through, I really need a place to keep my children safe. I can do Intel, security or medical....or all of it though my preference would be medical."

"Medical. We most certainly need Medical. I can't keep pinching the Commodores wife's staff. I confess I just haven't got round to properly recruiting yet ... but you need to know it might blur over into Medical and vet until I can find a proper qualified zoologist. Can you cope with that?" Liam asked simply.

"I don't know much about animals beyond my old cats," the Romulan admitted, "but I'm sure there are manuals available so I'm sure I can learn?" He grinned. "I have a long expected lifespan, I'm sure I can learn something new. What about residence? Do I get assigned a unit? Do I need to get it built? And is there a facility for underage children?"

“Well yes assigned and getting one built is no biggie. Be a couple of days. How many kids?”Liam asked. “We don’t have school facilities down here yet. They would have to beam up to the station for that.”

"Three. My twin daughters Liviana and Evaste, and my son Galan. The girls are half Vulcan, I would prefer for them to have teaching in the Vulcan as well as the Romulan way. Galan is full Romulan, he may choose to attend Vulcan teaching." He smiled. "Perhaps we can stay on the station, or here with Melinda for now? I heard she's moved here?"

“Ok well I can’t help with the curriculum but speak to the teachers on the station. If you would rather be station side people beam in and out daily. I’m not aware of Mel being down here. She’s not asked me. I mean I’ve been expecting well hoping…. I’m mean All the flora down here,” Liam said. “Maybe I should request her.”

"I thought she already was here," Lhaes confessed, "this is a botanical heaven. I think, given I like plants too, I'll stay here. The children may prefer it and the cats can roam free... insofar they can, they're getting old."

"Not to my knowledge. I didn't think she would want to move down. What with Hiro being stationside. I am going to make a request for her, though" Liam decided. Why not. He knew Melinda was good at her job, liked her.

"Computer sort out colony credentials for Lhaes Sommers as our new colony medic and send a message to Melinda Sommers on the station that I would like to request a meeting with her," Liam ordered.

"Go see one of the engineering officers and they will allocate you quarters," he told the other man. "If you choose to use them."

"I'll have to until I can live here on the planet, don't I," the Romulan smiled, "though I suppose if you have a big tent, we can go camping until we can. I'm sure the girls would love that opportunity."

"I love a spot of Camping personally but we have not explored to much yet. Soon though. There's some interesting falls north of here which I imagine just further down the river would be a lovely camping spot," Liam said. "Do you camp?"

"Obviously," the Romulan grinned, "I'm a survivor counselor, that means that yes, I do camp. Did it a lot in my prior line of work too, and now I do it to entertain the children and teach them to survive on minimal means. Do you have children? Perhaps we can go camping with our families, together..."

"Well yes. Its quite a recent development actually. I found out I had a son. I have managed to get him here with me now. And saying that my wife seems to have disappeared. I assume she's on the station as I can't really sense her," Liam said. It was beginning to bug him. He assumed she had been pulled into things but usually she sent a message and gave him an idea of when she would be back planet side.

"Maybe she's busy and blocking you out? Is she a telepath too?" Lhaes shrugged, it didn't seem all too concerning to him. "If you're really concerned you could go up to the station."

"She is. Perhaps. I shall give it a little longer," Liam said. "I am sure your services as counselor will be just as welcome here. Its an adjustment even if we have the option to beam up to the station."

"I doubt anyone would appreciate my counseling skills, counselor," the Romulan chuckled, "because I don't have any. I assure you my bedside manners are acceptable, however, when it comes to medical matters."

Liam shook his head slightly working out he had misunderstood his statement, "I'm a survivor counsellor."

"I must be a little off with my wife disappearing," he explained. "Shall I take you down to your new sickbay then doc?"

Lhaes offered a flourish with his left hand and grinned. "By all means counselor, lead the way."
