Duffel bag slung across his shoulder, simply refusing to have what little he owned transported somewhere, Lyras made his way to the Cerberus. As he neared the hatch he spotted the tall and lanky Kelpian he had met before, albeit briefly. "Is'san!" he called out, raising his voice to be heard over the scattering of sounds that surrounded them. "Are you assigned to the Cerberus too?"

"Indeed!" Is'san had turned and was easily able to look over the crowd for the owner of the voice who had called him. "It appears that Commodore Haistro or possibly even Commander Carter herself have seen fit to request my presence as First Officer once again. How are you settling in now Lieutenant?"

"First officer, wow," Lyras marvelled, knowing he was a very long way off himself to even get that kind of offering. "I am settling in fine, studying hard and not keeping much free time lately. I have been assigned as chief medical officer..." That one still surprised him too, even though he did work hard enough for it. He brushed his collar with two fingers. "Someone even saw fit to promote me," he added, somewhat proudly.

"My sincere congratulations Lieutenant. Once we have set sail perhaps you would join my for a celebratory beverage in the mess hall?" Is'san ducked slightly as he stepped through one of the rounded airlock doors into the more familiar Starfleet design of the Cerberus hallways.

"Sure." The hybrid smiled gratefully. "How long before we do clear moorings? How much time do I have to ah... explore my new domain?" He grinned, nodding towards the tall man as he ducked. "They really should accommodate starships towards the taller people in the universe," he commented, "how do you keep yourself from constantly hitting your head?"

"It has taken some great amount of reminding myself and a number of trips to the Infirmary for pain relief to ease the headaches!" the tall Kelpian jested. "It is a common factor among most species though. Very few seem to exceed the normal height of Humans, Klingons or other federation members worlds. So very few of us are taller or shorter!"

"Vulcans often are a little taller," Lyras noted, "Andorians have their antennae." He paused, smile fading. "All jesting aside, you should not have to duck..."

"As tall as I am Lieutenant, it has become an expected norm for me and any of my people now entering Starfleet!"
Again ducking under the last durasteel lintel above the entrance into the Cerberus' airlock. Thankfully the Starfleet vessel was more suited to his physicality than the Cardassian design Station.

"That does not make it any less wrong to expect it," Lyras countered, suppressing a smile as it just did look ridiculous. "Where are your quarters situated? Mine are, insofar I know, near sickbay."

"Mine have been allocated on Deck three section five but I need to make my way to the bridge first and ensure we are already spooling up the ship systems... I will not keep you but let us make sure to find time for lunch together during the trip!"
Is'san smiled, it was a warm smile, gentle despite his imposing frame. "If you will excuse me Doctor!"

A little flustered, Lyras nodded. "Yes of course," he answered. "Or perhaps dinner, once we cleared moorings?"

"That would be nice. I will talk to you soon!" the slender being said before turning on his heel and starting gracefully down the hallway.
