ON:

Tam had talked to Kaylee about wedding arrangements but now the XO of the station was feeling a touch of panic. She needed to talk with someone maybe two someones, so she called Carter and Mel.

"Lillian and Mel can we meet somewhere I really need to talk to you." Tam began, "I don't know what to do so need some advice."

Lillian's voice came back over the comm system "Carter here. Of course Commander. I was just on my way to the Promenade to get something to eat. Would there be ok?"

"That would be fantastic, I am feeling a little bit peckish. " Tamaska responding. "I truly appreciate this." and she headed that way.

"Give me a few more minutes. Im pregnant," Mel said. It was only the first trimester but she found herself slower than any of the two times before. Was it because she was 15 years older? When she finally made it she sat down with a huff. "Please tell me this is not second thoughts. I cannot have a cocktail you know but we may need to get you one."

Tam took a breath, then began, "I'm not having second thoughts but, I totally forgot to ask you to be part of the marriage ceremony as my best girls. And well.. please say yes? I've neglected you something fiercely. And.. And.." she stopped, "Yes I need a cocktail." her dark eyes widening.

Mel nodded and waved in the direction of the nearest waiter. "You have neglected no one Tam. It would be honour. I just hope i can fit in the dress."

"My wedding planner, Kaylee, she says she will be taking care of the dresses to where they will be comfortable. She said she was big on comfort and also being pretty." Tam nodded thanks to the waiter who brought over drink. "I remember your wedding Mel and it was so beautiful." giving a dreamy smile.

“Thank you and so will yours,” Mel said. She wondered what was going on. Tam rarely got ruffled.

"Thank you. I know I am just a little bit panicked. It's strange I can face a ship's danger and peril of the station and now, I am all a twitter about getting married and what to do. Maybe things are catching up to me? Maybe I am worried that something will happen to keep Junjie and I from getting married?" Tam taking a good drink of her cocktail.

“Not on our watch,” Mel said firmly. “Can I get a virgin one please?” She called after the waiter.

Lillian sat there, feeling a bit out of her depth. She had not even had a steady boyfriend, let alone thought about getting married and was not sure how much use she would be to the XO.

Tam looked at Lillian, Are you okay?" forgetting about her own nervousness and focusing on Carter. "I was just asking you here to be one of my best peoples of honor. And just wanted to focus on something else." she added. "And you being here is helping."

"I think we are going to need more cocktails," Mel said looking at Lillians face. "Keep them coming," she said loudly to the waiter.

Lillian smiled, trying to be supportive. "I'm fine, I would be honoured to be part of your wedding. I was just thinking that I'm just not sure what advice I can give you."

Tam chuckled, as a thought crossed her mind. "Maybe it would be more along the lines of, Tam don't panic there are not boogie men ready to pop up and yank Junjie away from you." giving a shrug. "That time jump we did, with the whole station kind of bothered me, and that..." she leaned in whisper, looking furtively over her shoulder. "That Q he made me nervous. I half expect him to jump out and say boo."

Lillian chuckled "I think I can handle that, but we all know Junjie only has eyes for you."

"Q is Q," Mel said softly. "There's nothing you can do if he decides to do something. In our last encounter I ended up dead in the future. No point worrying about something you have no control over. Hes here for a reason. Just got to let it play out."

"Wait, what? He did that to you? That is horrible!" Tam's eyebrows crinkled as an obvious growl sounded in her voice. "If I could just slap him..." then she shook her head, "I really don't feel like having a muzzle put on me again though."

"I doubt you would manage to land the slap Tam. Seriously. Hes a Q. You're only going to manage to slap him if he's intrigued enough to let you. Annoying as it is, its just got to play out. And being dead in the future, where all your colleagues at the time get hauled into. Not that bad. You don't remember anything. Forget Q and lets get you ready for your wedding ehh," the Trill smiled.

Tam nodded, "Our wedding is going to be somewhat traditional oriental style. As I am going to be wearing red and gold for the gown. But... would either of you want to dress in a beautful kimono or would you want to be at the table of important guests?"

"Kimono for me!" Mel said. "I always wanted a Kimono. And with bump that's going to be very comfortable." Her eyes darted for a moment as one of the T'Kon walked past them. Her hosts started up arguing that "they" were watching her. Mel shrugged it off as silly paranoia and looked back at Tam. "Can we see your gown?"

Tam noticed the look in Mel's eyes and who had walked by, her instinctual security mode was kicking in. "Sure lets go look at my gown and then you both can look at the kimonoes that you could wear. The cloth is so soft and silky." Tam rising from the seat, and holding out her hand to assist Mel to rise from her chair as well.

Lillian smiled. "Sure, why not."

The trill smiled appreciating the help up. "So what is an oriental wedding like? Any special traditions?"

"Well in some places it takes place in a temple, or in a courtyard with a shrine nearby. Junjie designed something that reflected our heritages." Tamaska replied as she led her friends to the shop where her wedding outfit lay waiting for her to try on once more. The dress was a vibrant red, with a gold design upon it. "Red is for luck and the gold is for prosperity. There are different colors you both can choose."

"Thats stunning Tam," Mel said looking the clothing. "With my hair you might want to consider putting me in beige or brown. Id suggest green. I mean I like wearing green but Charlie says it clashes so much. You though will look wonderful. No chance of a hair clash there."

Tamaska took a look at Mel. "A rich dark brown would look great with your hair as well as a dark jade green." Tamaska replied with a smile. "Nothing wrong with you wearing green at all."

"How about you?" Looking at Lillian.

Lillian sighed. "I'm still trying to sort out my wardrobe. Nothing I have in there fits me anymore. I'm sure I used to be brunette... and less busty." she added wistfully. "I still haven't worked out what I look good in," she said as she looked over the various garments on offer.

"Well these can be comfortable, and its true you do look different however, whatever happen Lillian, we can find something that look absolutely gorgeous on you." Tam looking at other kimonos there. "Maybe the two of you could wear, matching rich brown and you know something Mel, you could actually wear a dark purple as well, which won't clash with your hair, and the same for you as well."

Lillian smiled. "Yeah, that sounds good to me."

"You are the bride so I believe the colour is your choice," Mel said.

"I say you get to choose as the rich brown is like the good earth that gives life to nature around us." Tamaska replied with a happy smile. " I am so glad you both came to rescue me. It has helped a lot."

"What are friends for?" Mel quipped. "Besides you have rescued me in your time."

Tam just beamed at that and drew Mel and Lillian into a gentle group embrace, very thankful for having them there.
