Mission: Episode 4 - The Fires Of Hades
Location: T'Kon Warship and USS Copernicus
Timeline: Mission Day -584,945 @ 0900 Hours

ON

The journey had been taking its toll on the crew of Copernicus, not for the first time in its time either. Keiben was meandering around the bridge, a now cold cup of coffee in his hand, sipping at it still to keep his mind and body occupied. The T'Kon had proven their superiority in more than one capacity thus far and had already pinpointed the Cerberus's location which had been several days away at maximum warp.

Tia rotated one of her feet, when she stood in the same place for a while her feet usually got quite stiff. A small crack could be heard and she closed her eye at the satisfaction it gave her.

Suddenly, if only to break her from her bliss, her console indicated it wanted her attention. It was the USS Cerberus. "Captain, I am picking up the Cerberus on long range sensors. Dead ahead."

"Also Sir," a young ensign said somewhat nervously. "You have a private message from your wife." He wasn't sure if he was supposed to do that. Or if his timing was just horrendous ..... "I'll ermmm patch it to your console .... erm sir."

Ensign Suzume Inada, rubbed her eyes to clear them and the news of the Cerberus being ahead brought her more into focus. She frowned slightly as it seemed the Cerberus wasn't alone. "That doesn't look good there." she murmured quietly.

Only moment after Suzume haid said those words the doors to one of the Turbo lifts opened and Hiro stepped onto the Bridge. His face showed a few gray/black smears as he had to be creative and do some makeshift repairs during their trip. The Captain had pushed the ship beyond the safety limits he had advised and didn't go without consequences. "I don't like the sound of that."

Ensign Inada spoke up, as she noticed that there were other ships peeling off from their pursuit of the Cerberus.

"Looks like a couple are breaking off and coming in our direction."

Keiben moved with purpose to his command chair, the message from Mel would have to wait a moment. He assumed it would be a status report from the station and her way of nudging him to come back in one piece... for all of them to. He would make a point of playing it on the main view screen but first, "Patch me through to Cerberus!"

Seconds later the intercom sputtered to life "Commander Carter, this is Captain Haistro... What's your status?"

T'Kon vessel

Peter still wasn't quite sure what to think of all this, but he sure felt impressed by their vessel. Their tactical capabilities had to be enormous, and he couldn't help but feel a little excited about getting a glimpse of them. Idly, he brushed his fingers past one of the active consoles, the inner security man just wanting to get a feel of them.

He yanked his hand back as he felt a shiver pass through his body, as if something was trying to touch his mind. Much like when his hand had smashed through that canopy. Idly, he cradled his right hand, as if to make sure the prosthetic was still there. He shook his head as if to clear it, then glanced around to see if anyone noticed.

Now that was done, and battle station had been ordered across all decks he knew this would be the only moment to listen to the message from Mel.

"Ensign, call the message from the station up on screen!"

The ensign looked unsure. It was from his wife but he dare not question the CO. "Yes sir."

Mel's image filled the screen. "Keiben. I know your busy but just to let you know, You have more to fight for." She beamed at him and placed her hands on her stomach. "Come back to us."

Everyone looked as stunned as the Captain. The ensign awkwardly said, "Congratulations sir."

Keiben was gripped with a confusion to start with. He had expected a status report on the station but slowly the realisation started to dawn on him... her stomach... Did she mean the Symbiont?

He cast a quizzical look around the bridge and the beaming faces told him a different story and then it hit him.
"I'm going to be a father!"
