Mission: Episode 4 - The Fires Of Hades
Location: T'Kon Heavy Warship Raz-Han-Tass'ryth
Timeline: Third Ascension in the Age of Makto

ON

It had been a delicate mission, to say the least, the civil war within the T'Kon Empire had been put on hold while the Iconian threat was being handled. In truth, it was not an Iconian Threat... It was war and although Bar'syn was the Governor of the outer colony world of Karys'ii he was still very much opposed to the central world's machinations and plans to move a star. It held far too much danger to his planet and that was the reason he had joined with the other outer worlds.

He was ambling around the bridge of the warship that had been assigned to convey him back and forth from the T'Kon War Council, examining the readouts but his mind simply was not on task. He nearly knocked over the girl... if 'girl' was the right term. She was nothing more than a processor running this ship's systems. Her species had been indentured to the T'Kon for many an age now because of the initiative ability to connect and manage T'Kon technology. She was nothing more than a tool, equipment... or so he had been brought up to believe.

The almost rail thin aide looked at the girl and sniffed in a small hmph as he followed the governor, "Sir, your notes you left off at a pertinent part of your letter." Delmirt quietly remarked to the Governor.

"Del... Just go a find someone else to bother. I've had enough. The war with the Iconian's has put a stop to our efforts to make the Empire listen to us. We are T'Kon and they treat the colony worlds no better than one of those!" he waved a hand at Shai, not knowing she had a name. "I just need time to think!"

Shai wore what they all wore. Dove-gray tunic, without sleeves, so that her shame was laid bare, over matching pants. She stood, barefoot and unmoving, before the console. Monitoring systems for the moment since the masters had no specific requirement for the moment. Her hands remained in contact with the console while the crystals set in the cuffs she must always wear undulated in shifting colors, focusing her telepathic connection to the system. The room was cold and her bare skin pebbled with the chill; training had given her the discipline required to ignore such sensations. Training had blessed her with the ability for someone like herself to be of use to the masters. Silent and still, she kept her focus on the system and waited to be of service.

Delmirt moved to where he was away from the governor but wasn't going to leave perse, he needed to record the happenings anyway and keep watch on her. The one called Shai.

Bar'syn had continued his meander around the command center, ignoring the glaring from the military leader but he knew he would be unpopular with most of the crew if he was found following his aimless course around the ship. He knew here he would be safe from any agents of the T'Kon Homeworld that had infiltrated his flagship. He was a prime target for assassination given he had championed the rift that had started to open between the outer worlds and the core of the Empire.

A console he was near light up and the young girl, she looked far too young to be in military service started to feverishly punch away at the console.

"Fariq'awal" the rank an honorary one given Bar'syn had needed someone to command the fleet from his world. "We are picking up a massive temporal disturbance at the edge of the system!"

"Get us to safe distance and monitor," the Tkon Fariq'awal ordered. "I hate Temporal anything but I suspect we must administer a probe and see if it appears in the past or something."

She clicked her fingers in the direction of the crystal connected.

"Yes, Mistress," Shai said quietly. Her gaze trained on the console before her, one such as her did not look those above her directly in the eye, she sent a command through the telepathic connection she maintained with the computer. With the probe dispatched, she monitored its data stream and set up the format that would provide a summarized report to those that mattered.

It didn't take long. "Mistress, this one begs permission to speak," she said.

"Permission," she replied curtly.

It was not something she could explain, the way she could interact with the data, and fortunately, that had never been asked of her. "There is a presence in orbit around the gas giant. No matching energy signature in the database; this one believes that it is not naturally occurring. This one is monitoring machine output, possibly communications." Her head jerked up, staring at the wall. "This ship is being scanned."

"Shields up and get scanning as well. I do not like surprise visitors. Who are these people?" she demanded.

Delmirt still quiet where he stood, entered even more on his device, taking notes, as this was most certainly some fascinating things happening right now.

Bar'syn has given up hope of completing his lap of the bridge in relative silence to continue his musings, said musing all but forgotten about by the oddity that was now before them.

"What is it?"

"On-screen and also scan it," the Fariq'awal barked. A dark image came up but it was enough to make out a circular shape and pylons.

"Yes, Mistress," Shai responded. She kept her gaze averted, eyes down, and focused on the panel, while she relayed the Fariq'awal's commands to the computer.

As the sensor logs started coming in it was clear that there was power and life forms. "It is too large to be just a ship," the Fariq'awal mused. "Yet there are no bases out here."

"This one asks permission to be heard," Shai said.

“Permission,” the Fariq’awal stated.

"An object has separated from the larger mass and is heading in this direction." Without being asked, and realizing that was a risk, Shai split the screen so that both images were now visible. Larger and smaller both.

“Oh how cute. They have a patrol vessel. And it looks so primitive,” the T’Kon female laughed.

“Send them a message. State your business,”

Delmirt decided to get a closer look at things, He also looked at the girl who was running the scans, then she just collapsed. "Oh my looks like she wasn't up for the task." giving a bit of a sniff, "I will call someone up here to remove her, and get someone else to operate. I had a feeling that she wasn't up for this task." Delmirt sending a message for this to work then he moved to a communications console. "Approaching ship, state your business. " giving another sniff. "Who are you?"

A young female with red hair appeared on the monitor. "I'm Commander Lillian Carter of the USS Cerberus, representing the United Federation of Planets. We're on a mission of exploration and we come in peace. And you are?"
