"Ty is that you?" Teena said groggily. She had just managed to get them all down and knew her "partner" would be back off shift soon.

"Of course it's you," she smiled. "Who else would it be? Baby brain still. Did you have a good shift?"

She had news to tell him but he needed to eat and switch off from work before she broached the subject.

"It was good," Tyrion answered as he observed her. "You know it's okay to call me when you need help right?" He gave her a quick hug of appreciation, then led her down to the couch. "Dinner can wait, what's the news that's floating around your mind? I'm not all that hungry yet anyway, I had a very late lunch."

"One of the units finally came up on the prom," she breathed. "I was ... hoping to bid on it but if I was .. well successful we would need to amend the childcare routine."

"I'd never hold you back in your endeavours," he reminded her, "you should put a bid on it." He gave her an encouraging smile. "We're in this together, if you being happy means I need to cut back on my duty hours, then I'm sure this can be arranged. There's absolutely no reason why you should be staying home to raise our children, while I'm out all day. This isn't the twentieth century Earth, where if history lessons served, it was required of women once they had children."

"Earth was certainly very different to Betazed," Teena mused. "It was the other way round there. But thank you. I shall bid on it then. Now let's sort you some dinner out. How was your day?"

"Oh, the usual," Tyrion answered mysteriously, "and I know it's the other way around." Darker feelings surfaced as old memories of his youth did, but he buried them just as quickly. "Where in Earth history girls were married off and had no choice in the matter, on Betazed it still happens to boys and young men being married off. I mean, it happened to us, didn't it? And we didn't really have a choice at all?"

He reached out to brush her cheek with his hand, making sure she looked at him as he cast her a smile. "But we're getting by, and we have a family. Yes, we agreed to have an open marriage but know I'd never just leave you behind. And I do want you to follow your dream, and that is my choice now. Not mother's, or your mother's. Mine, and if you pursuing your dream, means that I need to cut back on hours to look after our children, then I will." He paused. "We could gather the children and just go out for dinner, and you can show us that place you're after?"

Teena beamed suddenly very excited. "What a wonderful idea. Their nap will be up soon. I think you will love it Ty and you have a great sense of style so I have to have your input into potential decorations. Its big enough to have a workshop in the back like the last place to make my soaps and lotions."

Tyrion chuckled. "Of course I do, I'm gay," he now laughed, as if that was to say it all. He was happy to see her happy. "You know...I think we can really make this work. Be happy ourselves and keep our families happy. What do you think?"

"I believed it from the beginning, or I would never have suggested it, us getting hitched," she said seriously. "We just have to keep Betazoid society as far away from us as we can. Limit our involvement and we are both home free to live our lives as we want to. We fulfilled their terms. Family legacies live on. Now it's time for us both to live. Talking of ....... its time you put yourself back out there," she smiled at him. "There must be a nice young man you have an eye on."

"I haven't really had time to... put myself out there," Tyrion chuckled, "and I haven't been looking really. Had my hands full on the wee ones. Besides, who'd want to date a father of four?" He shrugged. "Not everyone's as openminded as you and I are. What about you? You got your sights on someone?"

She laughed. "I've had 4 kids, and 3 of them with me constantly too and as kind as you are, both you and Danya have seen my state over the last few months. Venturing out alone with them takes military precision. Perhaps though I might meet someone once the shops up and running," she winked at him.

"You can go out any time you want, all I have to do is rearrange my schedule," Tyrion offered, reaching out with both hands towards her. "We're a partnership, which means I will rearrange things if you need anything."

Teena grinned and squeezed his hands. "Then in that case I'll pop out and go bid on the unit. Wish me luck," she said excitably.

"Good luck," Tyrion smiled, "and if you need anything just call. I'll be here with the little ones."
