Mission: Episode 4 - The Fires Of Hades
Location: Captains Quarters
Timeline: Mission Day 12 @ 1934 Hours

ON

It had been twenty four hours since Q had returned the station to its rightful place in time and it was comforting to see the dusky oranges and rust colours of the Briar Patch once more, even if on reflection given what they now knew about the Patch it was something of a bitter sweet refrain.
Both he and Tam had taken a moment to steal away and just sit watching the slow turning of the station through the oval windows in the Captains quarters. He had opened the bottle of Aldebran Merlot he had and both were sipping at a glass.
"Why didn't we see it before... All of the T'Kon ruins seem to be in this area but we never put two and two together!"

"Kei, there was so much going on, and finding that planet with the T'Kon computer." she shivered remembering what happened there. "And winding up in the past, very, very concerning. Do you think we will be having to deal with that again?" Tam taking a sip of the Merlot, her gaze going back out towards the Briar Patch..

"It's hard to believe that the T'Kon Empire spanned this area and we had no idea that their homeworld was the reason the Empire fell and how the Briar Patch was created... It seems so mind boggling!"
He took a sip of his wine also, marvelling at the sight before them.

"It is beautiful even though it is a result of two empires deciding to destroy one another." noting that the wine was catching the colors of the Briar Patch. "And us being there to witness it. Did we cause it, Kei? We couldn't stop it could we?"

"I don't know Tam... If we hadn't been there would things have unfolded differently... Are we the reason and always have been the reason even before we had all been born the reason that the T'Kon Empire was wiped out?" he swirled the deep red black liquid around in the glass, watching the liquid move as he contemplated the answers.
"It's a little hard to conceive that we are and are not the reason they ceased to be!"

"And eerily, there is that entity that took over the station, the one that seemed oh so lonely from what I have heard, but was so angry. Could she have been a part of this whole thing as well?" Tam looking at Keiben. "I know I wasn't a part of what went on with the station but I can't help but wonder about her."

"Honestly I'd forgotten about that... To many other things going on to worry about!" A thought occurred to him, sitting forward placing his glass down on the small coffee table that matched the black leather sofa. "Did we make sure that AI was out of the systems... What if it was the cause of us being sent back like that... What did happen to her?"

"As far as we know she was taken care of, but, who knows there could have been a back up copy of her somewhere. With how sentient she sounded like she was, and what she did to all of you. Makes me wonder could she have hidden a small part of herself somewhere? I've not touched base with those who have had contact with her, in a little bit due to our wild adventure. We may need to start digging into that Keiben." leaning back to take another sip of her wine. A worried expression in her eyes. "And have we even tried to trace down the history of that AI?"

"Thats a worry for another day... Lets just catch a breather for a day or so now" Keiben picked up his glass once more and lifted it before him knowing that he would need to take a moment to speak to their T'Kon refugee and update them on what had happened and their place in the galaxy now. "A toast... to the memory of a civilisation!"

"Indeed a toast to them. An end and also a beginning." Tam raising her own glass to his and taking a drink. "May we learn from their mistakes, and ours"
