Mission: Episode 4 - The Fires Of Hades
Location: USS Cerberus Transporter room

ON

The shimmer of the transporter beam released Keiben and his bridge crew after the emergency evacuation of Copernicus. They had made it through the battle almost unscathed but the rapidly repaired systems of the small science vessel just couldn't hold up under the abuse they had received over the last couple of months.

He cast an eye around the gathered officers, plus Commander Horn and Ensign Alessa who had been rescued during the battle... a battle that had seen the T'Kon Warship swarmed by the Iconian's in a brutal attack. Several of the crew had been rescued by Copernicus but a mere fraction of the number that had been on board.

"Commander, thanks for the assist... I think it's time I stopped pressing Hiro here to get Copernicus space worthy and let him do his job!" Keiben was a mirror for the sombre tone and he could sense it from all in the room. "What's your status Commander?"

Alena was shaken, and that was putting it mildly. Things had gone fast, and she still needed to process it all. While she knew that the T'Kon technically didn't belong to the timeline she came from, she still hoped that they would be alright. It had definitely been a close call. She was beyond grateful that she and the people around her were still alive. However, she knew that they were just a fraction of the people who had been in that fight. She drew in a breath, mentally steadying herself.

Though he appeared calm and collected anyone who knew him well enough -and any trained telepath- knew he was anything but. Just one closer look and one could see the carefully maintained facade was about to crack. "How many were rescued beside us?" He asked. How many had been killed, thereby posing great risk to the timeline? What if someone who should play an important future part, was killed now?

Hiro had no idea how many others had made it through the fight. He had been too busy to keep the Copernicus in one piece. So he stayed silent and looked around to see who would speak up.

Truth be told Tia had her mind on other things, not so much how many had fallen or how much damage had been sustained. Her goal had been to keep the Copernicus in one piece long enough for them to survive, and that had been the case. The Cerberus team had a better take and all round set of eyes that she had at this point.

Lillian had come down to the transporter room with Musk. Her uniform was covered in black stains and torn on the right shoulder. The Cerberus had fared better in the battle than the Copernicus had, but not by much,

"It's good to see you Captain. It was touch and go there for a moment. The ship held together rather well. Moderate damage to the shields. Some minor damage to the hull and secondary systems." She gestured to Musk who bowed his head slightly "This is Commander Musk, He helped us escape and has agreed to give us technical specifications on the Iconian fleet and the gateway."

"I'm more interested in trying to understand why the Iconian's are here and now... I know before Copernicus shut down that we had started to read a massive build up of some kind of energy in the general vicinity of the station... It was something our sensor couldn't make head nor tails off. Commander Musk, if I can ask... Do you know what this might be?"
Keiben asked as he followed Commander Carter through the corridors, his officers falling in step behind them.

Musk looked at Lillian and hesitated for a moment, then answered "Iconian high command believes that the T'Kon are planning to move a star in that region of space and use it as a weapon against us. I have voiced my opinion about their motives being for other reasons as it is part of their terraforming process and poses no threat to us but, I was ignored. I believe they are planning some kind of attack but since I disapproved of this course of action, I was not included in the planning."

"Do you know anything about the attack?" Lillian asked.

Musk shook his head "Only that it is imminent."

"We need to get back to the station!" Keiben's pace picked up before he stopped himself, turning back to Carter. "Commander, she's your ship not mine... My apologies!"
