USS Copernicus - Airlock

Keiben heard the pressure doors close behind him as he boarded Copernicus. Instantly he felt at home, like slipping into a well worn pair of shoes, this ship still felt like home. Flanking him were Hiro and the newcomer, Tia. He was still short of experienced hands so despite his misgivings he had no choice but to make use of her tactical knowledge.

"What condition is she in Hiro?"

"She'll fly, sir. Only, Warp one will be the limit." Hiro said while he walked onto the ship besides Keiben. "But I strongly advice against taking her into battle. Shields are only at 55% and weapons output at 68% of nominal power output."

"Once we depart we are going straight to warp seven... If we blow up, we blow up... Take your post Lieutenant!" Keibens tone was confident and determined, every word he had said he meant. He had no intention of leaving one of his own let alone an entire ship of his people behind... Not again!

Tia could feel Keiben's reluctance in bringing her along, hell she shared it. The man seemed trusting of her to some degree and fortunately she had no desire to die on a station such as this after surviving the way she had done for so long. "I strongly advise we take noone into battle against the Iconians... this ship or any other." Tia stated dryly.

"Thats the plan but when have plans ever gone right for us Starfleet types?" he asked dryly but with a hint of humor tugging at the corners of his eyes.

Tia huffed slightly, he was only quite right about what he said, more than he knew.

"I appreciate you coming along... We may not know each other but we do need your experience."

"I will keep us safe... might be a few new scratches on the hull if we get into anything, but I'll keep us in one piece as best I can." Tia replied.

An youngish oriental woman stepped onto the bridge, "Hello, I'm Ensign Suzume Inada, I was told to report here as helm officer, unless you need me somewhere else." the perky helmsman giving a bit of a smile. "She is beautiful." taking a look at the bridge of the Copernicus.

Coming from the station a communications is heard. =^= Captain Haistro this is Petty Officer 1st Class Shailyn Lothian, there are two other ships, civilian who are requesting to join in this endeavor, what do you wish me to say to them? They are arguing that they feel that they need be a part of defending the station. =^=

"The more the merrier but have them hang back behind the main fleet, they can act as our back up!" the Captain called over the com line.

"I would recommend against the use of civilians against an organised Iconian force." Tia offered. "I accept their want to defend the station but they are not under our direct command and could become a wild element in the field. If they get passed us then there is no hope any back up would prove useful."

=^= Roger that sir=^= Came the reply from Shailyn. =^= The Attack wing is taking up position.=^= Shailyn relaying the news.

Ensign Suzume took her place at helm awaiting her orders from Captain Haistro. She checked the readings she was getting from the consoles and smiled slightly, she was getting rather excited at manning the ship.

"All stations, clear all moorings, disengage umbillicals, set coordinates and maintain formation with fleet. Set condition red throughout the ship. Open a channel to the T'Kon vessel..." Keiben started laying out his orders and paused a moment, waiting for a nod from his communications officer. "Fari'qawal, this is Copernicus. We are free and clear to navigate. You have tactical superiority so we will follow your lead!"

T'Kon Warship

Peter had stayed quiet most of the trip to the T'Kon vessel, seeming deep in thought. He carried a few essentials as he had no idea how long he would be staying on board the alien vessel, so he felt he'd rather be stuck with a few things he might not need, than need things and not have them. Occasionally he looked up to study their would-be host, but he seemed to be waiting for the other to speak first.

Alena looked at her surroundings. The T'Kon seemed like a more-than-a-bit advanced. She couldn't help but admire how the Fari'qawal commanded her ship. Well aware that she had no idea how to address these people without risking insulting them, she decided that it was worth a try. "Ma'am? Forgive me for asking, but I can't help but admire how your vessel is put together. I've never seen anything like this. How is it built?", she asked as formally as she could. She silently hoped she wasn't getting herself and Commander Horn killed.

"That is not something we can share, least we pollute your time line," the Fari'qawal stated firmly. She was none to pleased she had these people onboard. "You are only here to communicate with your ship once we engage them."

Peter nodded in understanding. "What are you able to tell us, without endangering our future?" He asked, somewhat redirecting Alena's question.

Alena looked around with interest. A monitor near the surveillance area caught her attention. It has some text written below it. "Security", she murmured to herself. Another screen had "Sickbay", written next to it. The text felt quite familiar, though she couldn't pinpoint its origin. She noticed a book laying on a table. It looked nearly identical to one of the ones Mrs. Anderson had left her. She frowned. Why had Mrs. Anderson had a book similar to this one?

“I have no idea,” the alien women stated. This situation was irritating. She didn’t even want them on her bridge. “Give them a tour. No tech specifics.”

“Yes Fariq’wal,” the closest person to her said suddenly straightening up and placing a hand on his chest in a salute like gesture. “Come with me.”

""Fari'qawal" came am excited voice from the back of the Warships bridge. "Copernicus is hailing us!"

“On screen,” she barked.

"Fari'qawal, this is Copernicus. We are free and clear to navigate. You have tactical superiority so we will follow your lead!"

Well that was the most sensible thing these aliens had said so far. “Set course to engage the Iconians pigs.”

Peter arched a single eyebrow at that statement. "Iconians are not porcine creatures, are they?" he queried, his voice carrying a note of surprise as he glanced around while they were led off the bridge. To be fair, he did not really recall ever having seen an Iconian, so for all he knew, they were described correctly.
