A whole new beginning

Episode 4 - The Fires Of Hades
Location: Cargo Bay/Quarters
Timeline: Just before the Time Jump
ON:
Kaylee had gotten done with her first shift as to being assistant security chief. She went to the cargo bay where she had gotten word of the arrival of their belongings she had packed from SB50. She wondered though, how much should she and Liam unpack? Currently they had the
bare minimal items for their stay, but how much to unpack and how long would it be? Tapping on her com badge she sent out a call to Liam.
=^=Love, would you join me in Cargo Bay Six? Our belongings have finally arrived." =^=
Kaylee just stared at the crates that were waiting for their decisions. One of the crates had the piano that he had so lovingly restored, just waiting to be unwrapped and placed somewhere they would call home.
=^=I'll be right there=^= Liam replied. =^=Ive just had a meeting with the Captain so we have some stuff to talk about.=^=
He got lost twice. He'd never been on a Cardassian station in his life but eventually he found her. And boy was she a happy sight to lay eyes on once more.
Pulling her towards him he kissed her sensually not caring if anyone else was there or watching. They had had very little privacy in the runabout over and next to no time since she had joined him at SB 508 before they had to set off.
Landing here had been just as busy. Both pulled off to help and muck in. Kaylee helping with a proper security shift today. "How did it go?" he asked pressing his forehead to hers and hugging her close.
Wrapping her arms tightly around Liam, her knees almost collapsing from his kiss, Kaylee pulled him in even closer. Giving a bit of a sigh of contentment being in his arms once more.
"It went well, love." looking into his eyes, "But this is even better. " her eyes twinkling and her gaze full of love for her husband. "We get to make our new home here together. I even packed our comfy bed too." giving a smile and pulling him in for a rather fiery kiss. ~I have missed you, very much.~
~Me too~ Liam said contentedly having her in his arms. He looked round. She had even managed to get the piano here. ~Wow how you pulled off getting all our stuff here so quickly, not in the least helping solve the crime. You never cease to amaze me baby.~
He pulled back slightly but laced his hand in hers and walked her over to Betsy 2. He couldn't think of a new name.
~So Captain Haistro wants me to head up the new colony. We were right when we guessed it was that going by all the stuff they sent us with that was the plan somewhere. I said I wasn't going anywhere without you of course. I'm not losing you. Even a few weeks after SB50. It nearly killed me being parted and so far from you,~ he said knowing she could feel the immense truth in that statement off him.
~So he said he wanted you for security. If you want this to be our new home we may be back and forth planetside and station. But they will get the transporters working so it shouldn't be a long time away from each other.~
He pulled her hand up to kiss it. ~What do you think?~
He personally still had the pull that this was their next step. Their destiny. That this colony and station had mysteries and answers they were chosen to be part of and help unravel. And going by what his wife was sensing she was not phased by this idea. That was one of the things he so dearly loved about Kaylee. Nothing seemed to phase her at all. And they had this overwhelming trust in each others abilities.
~I had help in getting all of our belongings together, but, yes I feel that this is where we belong. I want to be here. WE are forging our own destiny here. You and me. Along with others but here we are pioneers stepping on the path of making a future of our own.~ She gestured in the direction of the planet. ~We won't be away from each other at night unless it is the way it ends up being at times. Will mean quite the reunion when we do sleep together.~ giving a cheeky smile. ~I think yes, yes, yes. We will thrive here.~
Being here with Liam, them facing this new world, it gave her a thrill. Her skin prickling up at the thought. Explorers!
"I am wanting to get our quarters situated here. And we need to make sure to have a day to just ourselves. This time we can actually plan on days off together." Kaylee speaking with a smile.
"Definitely," he agreed. "And I intend to build us a house down there to run away and escape this place when we need fresh air, blue sky's and nature," he told her. " Build lots of places for the colonists to thrive and for the whole crew here to enjoy some shore leave.
We can spend nights under the stars. Maybe even see it as our proper honeymoon," he grinned. "I can imagine how incredibly beautiful you would look under real starlight," he said kissing her again.
"And I can see the same thing for you." running her hand up and down his arm which has certainly become more developed from the physical labor he had been a part of. Especially working on that piano." You know we can actually go camping in a tent and see each other in the moonlight and under the stars." Kaylee already imagining that, with a smile. Pulling Liam in for another kiss.
There was a clearing of the throat behind them and Kaylee looked to see whom it was. it was a woman with shoulder length blond hair, her uniform was the colour for engineering.
"Sorry to bother you, but I've got the equipment to help move your belongings into your quarters. If you would like. My name is Amalia and I'm your mover for today." giving a bit of a smile. She gestured towards two other people. "And so are they." both were male and taller than the woman standing a short distance away.
Liam smiled. "Sorry folks you can't blame me. Just look at my wife," he grinned. "Okay well you have another pair of hands. Its going to take at least 3 of us with the piano. She is heavy. Sorry!"
Amalia gave a lopsided grin, "Oh no apologies necessary. I figured when I saw what came in on the manifest, I'd get them to help out. And with you plus the proper equipment, it won't be any tribble at all." giving a wink, her lopsided grin going into a full one. "And I can help put the piano together, if you'd like."
Kaylee laughed, giving Liam one more kiss, then she moved from him to get ready for the moving to commence. "lets get moving"
Sometime later in the Reynolds Quarters
"What do you think?" Liam said finishing arranging around the area with his small piano. "Which part of the quarters are your claiming as your little world? I can't have this and you nothing. You need a space love."
Kaylee turned slowly around to look at what will be their new home. "You know, I am not certain... maybe the kitchen?" giving a giggle. "Or just next to you by the piano whilst you play, and I can share the piano with you? Most of my fancies, besides you had been sports oriented. I do need to begin finding some hobbies to do. I can crochet but anything else hobby wise." she shrugged. "I can figure that out later on. You see this is very new to me. This is a permanent base sort of thing. You, me, us a brand new place. I may try to do some painting, hopefully I don't make a mess of the place."
"You won't and even if you did, we could just repaint," he winked at her. "And you can share the piano anytime. I'm hoping this one will not encounter a sword."
Kaylee wrapped her arms about Liam's waist, "You wouldn't mind me being speckled with paint dots and streaks whilst I try to master the art of possible painting a tree or a rock? I must warn you I may get grouchy, and snap at you." lifting her lips towards his for a kiss.
"I think you would look adorable speckled with paint and streaks," Liam said bridging the distance to allow their lips to meet. "In fact we could have plenty of fun me helping you clean it all off afterwards," he grinned. "I would be very happy to help there."
"I am sure you would be very happy, and so would I." Kaylee replied her words sort of muffled with her lips against his. Then she pulled him closer preventing anymore talking until a few minutes later, breaking off the kiss for some air. She hadn't even spoken mind link wise concentrating on their kissing. She felt she still had some make up kissing to do.
"Why do you feel you need to do some making up?" Liam asked. Her thoughts were leaking out it seemed.
"I know that, we made up for not being together. Its just that. I don't know its probably stupid, I felt lost without you and I had a nightmare that I lost you, and I went looking for you. I couldn't find you. I wish I had left when you did, but Hiro needed me to finish that investigation." her head lowered as she plucked at his shirt for a moment. "Am I stupid for that nightmare and I just.. maybe I am overcompensating for not being with you." she then looked up into his eyes.
“Ok well first things first I’m not planning on going anywhere without you. Only deaths gonna part you and me-and even if that happens you can bet I will be constantly at the goddesses for a way back to you,” he told her seriously.
“And,” he nuzzled her neck for a second allowing her to keep toying with his shirt. Hell it felt very nice.
“And second,” he smiled as he felt her fingers graze his skin. “As much as I would have loved to have left together I’m so grateful that you helped Hiro when I couldn’t. Kaylee you solved it. You proved my best friends innocence. You were as always completely amazing. So my darling please stop feeling that way.”
"It was really difficult Liam, I was the one to make the arrest. It felt awful. I knew he was innocent of what was going on. However I still had to do my duty as what had been ordered by Samson. I did though have to back out of the questioning, as there was to me a bit of a conflict of interest." her hands after caressing his skin, resumed unbuttoning his shirt. "I.. I was thinking of you and was concerned about Hiro that I didn't feel like I was in a proper emotional state to even do my job." she pressed her lips to his skin. Then looked up into Liam's eyes. "I felt like I abandoned him but also didn't feel that it was right for me to be there either."
“That’s understandable love,” he nodded. “I wish I could have been there to support you,” he said softly pushing a strand of her hair out of her eyes. “Hiro knows you didn’t abandon him
but your right it was a conflict of interest. It was a bad situation to be stuck in.”
He lifted her up placing her on top of the piano. Suddenly they were nose to nose. “You handled everything the best way you could. You need to accept that and not let it eat at you like this. It’s the past now. No point wasting energy on something you can’t change Kaylee or trying to convince yourself you could have done better. We have a whole new beginning to focus on now and thanks to you Hiro and his family are part of it.”
Kaylee nodded, and smiled, feeling a peace flow over her. "I am so lucky and blessed by the goddesses of being here with you." throwing her arms around him, and planting a passionate kiss on his lips. ~And I can hardly wait to christen our quarters properly.~ her kiss intensifying even more.
Liam was hoping to get to that point too but then he found himself doubling over. "Kaylee brace yourself. Something's wrong."
Her eyes went wide as she felt it too. This wasn't something ordinary, this was rather intense and she wrapped her arms around Liam, "What is happening!" she gasped out, feeling the very floor beneath their feet tremble and knocking them to the floor. This was becoming a nightmare, but she had faith that the goddesses would protect them.
“Everyone’s panicking,” Liam said gasping. Then there was suddenly a flash.
