Mission: Episode 4 - The Fires Of Hades
Location: USS Cerberus, Main bridge
Timeline: Mission Day 3

ON:

The Admiral led the way onto the main bridge. Lillian followed closely behind looking around in wonder. Despite being only slightly larger than the Copernicus, the bridge felt enormous. A single command chair was positioned in the centre of the room. In front of it, down some step was the helm and ops which were in front of the main viewscreen. The tactical station was on the left wall while engineering was on the other side. The master system display was located on the back wall. It was a lot lighter than the Copernicus bridge, and it had that 'brand new' feeling.

Keiben followed the Admiral onto the bridge and was equally impressed with what he could see but his mind was elsewhere. The station was a huge endeavour for both him, the crew and Starfleet all rolled into one massive bicycle wheel shaped problem. He had a feeling his first officer, who also stood beside him was on the same page.

"She's impressive I must say Admiral but Commander Holt and I have decided that we won't have the time to enjoy her so with that in mind... We have decided that Lieutenant Commander Carter here can assume duty control of the ship which should in turn fall in line with her Starfleet Intelligence Coordination duties within the region... She will of course still be working out of the stations' Command Structure but have a level of autonomy to support her wide ranging scope of duties."

"Well, then let's make it official shall we?" The Admiral said with a smile then spoke a bit louder "Computer, transfer command codes to Lieutenant Commander Lillian Carter. Authorisation Jackson Gamma 565 Blue."

The Computer responded "Transfer complete. USS Cerberus now under the command of Lieutenant Commander Lillian Carter."

"Why don't you give it a try?" David gestured to the Captain's chair.

Lillian ran her hand over the back of the chair a moment before stepping around the front of it and sitting down, unconsciously crossing her legs and giving her top and sharp downward tug.

It felt good.

Tam looked around, then her eyes went back to Carter. "Well then, now that you are seated on your newest position. I am going to let you enjoy this moment and I am needing to head back to the station. I've got a ton of work to do." With that, Tam turned and gave a nod do the Admiral as well as Keiben. "Congratulations once again Carter. I will see you later." And Tam left the bridge.

"Commander, I will come with you... I promised the Chief I would have a go at bringing the emergency forcefield grid back online in the docking ring... Commander. Take some time to look around but we need you back on the station... I still need someone to run a complete diagnostic of the computer systems across the station!"
Keiben caught up with Tam and they both boarded the turbolift.

The doors of the Turbolift, opposite to where Commander Holt and Captain Haistro left, sided opened with a hiss and gave Hiro access to the bridge. There was a big smile on his face as he looked around. He'd just finished a tour of the Cerberus and he had to admit that he was impressed. "I bet she's a tough ship." he softly said to himself.

"These Prometheus class ships are meant to be the fastest in the fleet and she's got regenerative shields and ablative hull armour." Lillian said, hearing Hiro's comment. "Welcome to the bridge Lieutenant." she added with a smile.

"Thank you, ma'am. It feels good to be here. It's been some time since I've been Chief Engineer on a Starship." He greeted the Captain with a smile and stepped down into the Command well. "And I know all about the Cerberus' specifications. I've memorized them."

"Well, I hope you know how to fix the booming thing when it breaks down." Lillian said as she ran her hands over the armrests of the Captain's chair.

"Booming thing, ma'am?" The Asian man looked somewhat confused. "You mean..the Phaser array?"

"I mean the whole damn ship." Lillian replied looking around. "According to the Admiral, the ship's not finished its shakedown yet, so here's what I want you to do." She stood and walked over to him.
"I want you to go over every system, stem to stern with a fine-tooth comb, If there are any kinks, I want them fixed. Then, we'll have to schedule a proper shakedown cruise and see how she handles. Think you're up to that?"

"We'll be burning the midnight oil, but we'll get it done." Hiro was not joking. The Engineering department would be working long hours in the coming week. "She'll be running like a well oiled machine when we're done."

"Good. Well, from what the Captain says, you'll have time to do the work. He wants me to keep an eye on Ops while he and the XO bring the station up to Starfleet standards."

"I'll inform Engineering of the plans and get the project underway." Hiro said and got ready to walk to the nearest Turbo lift. "If there's nothing else,..Captain?"

Lillian smiled. "Carry on Lieutenant."
