"Lieutenant, has the disorientation passed?"

T'Sehn had finally made it round to Osil having had to forgoe his own groggyness in favour of tending to Lieutenant Tua and the other injured still pouring in to the medical facility. Thankfully one of the injured engineers had managed to get the Infirmary replicator working so the required medicines, although the Cardassian alternatives were now readily on hand.

Osil nodded slowly. "A little," he admitted, "though I still feel a little weird. What setting was that phaser on, because I don't remember changing it."

"It may be residual effects of the telepathic attack Lieutenant. If my scans are any indication the effects will fade it may just take a number of hours!"
His next stop was Anek Tua to see if he could get the Operations Officer back on his feet.

It took longer than desired, and considerable effort but Peter had managed to hoist the unconscious Betazoid across his shoulders into a fireman's carry, and had made his way to the station's infirmary. By the time he got there, he felt exhausted and, a little harder than really intended, he 'dumped' the unconscious body onto the nearest bed. "I need help here," he called out as he straightened out Keiben's limp form in an attempt to make him a little more comfortable.

"One moment Commander. I'm assume he is not in any danger of expiring?"

T'Sehn said from his crouching position at the other side of the infirmary. Lieutenant Tua was still unconscious so he had decided to try a mild stimulant to rouse the slumbering man, but nothing strong enough that it may cause harm to the Symbiont. Once it was done he stood and moved across to the Captain. "He is showing extreme fatigue of the telepathic centres of his brain. That would confirm my theory as to why Lieutenant Haistro and myself are still suffering the after effects of the attack that we sustained. Lieutenant Tua is also in a similar position but his Trill physiology has processed it far differently!"

"Lieutenant Tua is also suffering, trying to find balance from his blending," Mel stated walking into the infirmary. "I'm very glad to see you all alive," she said walking over to Keiben and running a hand gently over his cheek. "What happened on this station gentlemen?" Mel asked. She had been suddenly beamed over, checked in with Tam just found out her fiance and daughter were still alive and then headed straight to the infirmary.

"Mum," Came a small voice from behind her.

"Oh Charlie where have you been," she said spinning round and pulling her into a hug.

"I thought you were dead and they were going to throw me in the brig," she said. "I was just watching things from the upper promenade thingy. Then Tam told me to get down here. Is he okay? He looked like he was going into pon farr the last time I saw him," she indicated the Vulcan.

Mel scanned T'Sehn. "What happened?" she asked him. "Your body has some signs of there was a massive surge of the Hormones we would expect to see in pon farr but you seem okay now. Usually it lasts longer than a few hours."

"I believe there to have been a form of telepathic attack that quite effectively stripped me of my emotional control. It seemed to have a similar effect on Lieutenant Haistro and Tua".

His control now fully restored and back in place as he tended to the Captain, applying a mild sedative to allow him to remain in a sleeping state to help his body and mind get the rest it much needed.

"I'm sorry I had to stun you," Charlie offered. "I didn't feel safe. With all of you. I seemed the only one unaffected in any way."

"You did what you thought was right kid," Osil said, looking down at his unconscious brother before looking back at Charlie, "even though protecting us was my job..."

"Lieutenant, you along with I and Lieutenant Tua simply were not in a position to help ourselves, let alone anyone else!"

T'Sehn chipped in as he came back to the group, his ministrations to the unconscious pair now complete and the medical staff tending to the triage of injuries along the promenade. "I do believe Doctor that we have everything under control if you wish to see to your daughter!"

"I'm glad your okay sweetheart," Mel said nodding at T'Shen. She pulled her into another hug.

"I know you want to go all alpha mum on me cause I'm 14 and in a strange place but Keiben needs you to be here when he wakes up. I can go be useful somewhere. Either here with you or Minka might need another pair of hands. Or "Uncle" Osil," she told her.

Turning to the other Betazoid she told him, "Protecting me isn't your job. Your supposed to be the cool uncle teaching me to protect myself cause I'm the fearless princess right mum?"

"Oh yes, you never stood a chance there Osil," she said softly understanding what Charlie was trying to do. It wasn't lost on her that there was an issue between him and his thinking of things - his confidence with his brother. "But thank you for trying. From what I can gather resisting that presence was impossible for many. At least you came out of it better than your brother."

"And you did do your job. You did protect all of us because you made me realise that the rest of you were becoming a danger to yourselves," Charlie winked at him.

"I'm nowhere near as strong as Kei," Osil said, looking towards his brother once more, "I'm nowhere near his level of skill." There was a touch of envy in his voice, that sense of a shadow looming over him ever present but not as powerful as it had gotten before. "I can teach you to protect yourself," he added after a long silence, "but as security officer, protecting everyone, especially my family, is my job."

Mel sighed inwardly. In her head Leiko chimed in. ~One brother jealous of the other. Tragic and how often it is seen~

~Best not to get involved~ she informed her host.

~Does the beefcake fiance of yours know of this?~

~Again probably best not to get involved~

Not between anything between 2 brothers Mel decided.

"It was unusual circumstances Osil," Mel tried to soothe. "In normal circumstances and no one messing with your head and senses you would have been the perfect security officer that you are."

Osil offered a small smile. "Probably..." he reluctantly agreed. "So...what now?"

"We settle in. Get things working the best we can. Rescue as many as we can from the pods. Wait for new orders I guess," Mel said.
