When the team materialized on the Oberth ship, Tam feeling like as sense of dejavu but there was also another feeling of... they were here to hopefully rescue someone, this was something she was going to be concentrating on. Once she knew everyone was there, Tam looked over at the others. "We need to get to the bridge, and see about that survivor. Hopefully said person is still alive. Can anyone pick up any signs of others?"

Jon pulled a tricorder from his hip and started scanning. "Just the one, though this ship is in pretty bad shape. We'll have to be cautious, the whole place looks like a death trap." The words echoed in his helmet, he also felt his face itching as he looked at the others. "Structural integrity fields in some spots are less than ten percent, though they seem to be holding. We shouldn't dawdle."

Making sure her phaser was set to stun, Sher’ra stepped forward, “I’ll take point, and May I suggest we magnetise be our boots in case what’s left of the gravity field gives out before we’re finished here”

Adrian felt more than a little nervous, this suit was feeling very claustrophobic. He breathed heavily as he followed, not quite sure what they wanted him to do. He was a chemist, what did they need a chemist for while looking for an alien? "What do you want me to do?" he asked, after working up the courage to speak. Why hadn't they just left him alone in his lab?

"You can help me if you like. Keep an eye out, or a tricorder for any signs of what did the damage to this ship... I'll be looking at energy signatures and trace partials. If you could look at the chemical aspects that would be great!"
Adams asked, feeling more than a touch claustrophobic in his EV suit and with the engineering kit slung over his shoulder as well.

Brodie upon materiallzing had his phaser in hand and did a sweep of the parimeter, satisfied the away team was safe at the moment he checked upon the content of the pouch slung over his shoulder. A small oxygen cylender with about a half hours worth of air. They were here for a rescue and answers,He then resecured the oxygen bottle. "Shall we get to the Bridge? I have some oxygen for someone up there that really needs it."

'Let's move as quick and as safely as we can" Tamaska said and proceeded to head for the bridge. Once there she had to really keep her head in the game, she was okay and they weren't fighiting to keep themselves alive. Besides those who did the rescuing were with them. Verona and Stoun. "Let's open up the bridge and see if our person is there."

"Something really did a number on this ship." Jon looked around at the damage. "I'm surprised it has held together as well as it did." he kicked a piece of what looked like interior paneling. "Very curious to see what happened here."

“Hopefully the ships computer can be powered up enough for us to find out” Sher’ra commented, keeping an eye on bother the path before them and her tactical display on her helmet.

"One of a laundry list of things to do." The itch on Jon's face was starting to get to him. "I see myself living in this suit for a few days, reminds me of the old days."

“Well there are alternatives to spacesuits, but I’m sure the risk of radiation poisoning would limit those options” Sher’ra said, checking her own suits status out of paranoia.

"Not sure we run any risk of radiation ma'am," Adrian piped up as he peered at his tricorder. "Air's a bit thin here but I'm not reading much radiation or anything else toxic."

"Commander, looking at these scans, with the exception of that tear in the hull... This ship is salvageable!" Ensign Adams was feverishly analysing the data his tricorder was showing him and three times now he had asked the devise to try again. If anything, the Oberth Class had developed a name for itself in the century the class had been in service as one that would explode with very little effort from any adversary. "I've checked the readings three times. The superstructure is sound... Systems are another matter!"

"Do you want me to head down to engineering to see what I can do or are we staying together in case of space fleas." Jon swung around and looked at the others, "Or is this just a smash and grab for the moment?"

"We can split into two teams. Stoun take Bain and Sage with you and I'll take Adams, and Doctor D'Brooni and Verona with me. Just be careful when you go." Tam stated.

“I just need to give you all a shot,” Mel said after keeping quiet studying the radiation.
She pulled two hypo sprays from her kit and loaded them with some drug canisters.

“This will ward the effects but it needs re-administering every couple of hours,” she said handing one to Stoun for his team. “Your neck please chief,”

"Good point, Doctor." Tam said, "We're going to have those just in case."

"Do you think there will be more radiation where we're going?" Adrian asked, looking back at his tricorder. "I'm not reading much..."

"Commander!" Adams interrupted, his tricorder in hand as he shoved his way through the group until he could see through the wound cutting through the hull of the Yosemite. "I detected weapons fire and... Oh my god!"

Finally reaching the opening in the hull he could see what was happening in real time. A hazy shadow like that of a spider could be seen through the clouds of the Briar Patch and just before that same shadow was Copernicus, she was taking fire and dodging her way through the clouds until two impacts caught her amid ship and a third found purchase in a dense cloud of Metrion. The away team watched as the cloud erupted, engulfing Copernicus just as the shadow came into focus... a Nor Class Cardassian space station.

Adrian looked on in awed horror as their home ship took a beating and then was engulfed by an inferno. "Oh my god," he gasped, "oh my god I hope they're alright ov-" He faltered as the gigantic space station loomed into view. "Geez, where the hell did that come from!"

Adams was stunned but still managed to find his friend Doctor D'BrooNi, knowing her thoughts would have gone immediately to Charlie and her fiancée. He said nothing, he just wrapped his arms around her and held her close!

Jon watched the scene unfold, he shielded his eyes from what looked like a warp core explosion. "We need kill any remaining power to this ship right now, power down everything and anything that is going to indicate that there is anyone here. If whoever on that station thinks that there is anyone alive over here, we are next."

"Wait what just happened? No.. can't have happened no... Junjie!" Tamaska gasped out.

Mel couldn't move. She couldn't say anything further. Her hosts were all doing it for her.

~Did that really happen?~
~Charlie and the Beefcake oh my days~
~I told you NOT to mess with the T'Kon ....~ hissed her first host.

She managed to just squeeze Adams hands round her and after Stoun spoke again his words pierced her and survival mode decided to kick in. "As the Chief says. We don't have much time. Chief what can we do?."

She didn't understand mechanical systems so was likely no help but she had to try. Her potential last act in this life would not be standing there stupid and doing nothing.

"Bridge and engineering probably still the best bets, there is still the person on the bridge we came for, engineering would be able to bypass everything and shut off systems." Jon ran through his head the emergency shutdown procedures. He was trying to put the other ship out of his mind for the moment.

"I would suggest your team go to engineering and we will go to the bridge. If that person needs medical aid, I can do more for him than I can do in engineering," Mel said looking at Tam.

The words seem to be lost on Adrian, who still stood staring at the remains of their ship. He didn't seem to hear the chief medical officer's suggestion at all. Of all the things to happen on his first assignment fresh out of the academy, they just seemed to have lost their ship.

"Commander, what are your orders?" Jon had gone over to what used to be a computer terminal and tried interfacing to it with his tricorder. "That station even breathes our way we're toast."

"Look!" Adrian suddenly cried out, pointing at minute dots that seemed to emerge around the Copernicus. "Look, there's survivors! There have to be!"

" Saints be praised!! " Exclaimed Brodie. " Commander Holt, This be the closest thing to friendly territory that the Copernicus has. Shall we prepare to take on survivors if any come this way or proceed with the rescue and repairs? What be your orders Commander? " Brodie pulled a small threaded bottle from his pouch and handed it to Dr. D'BrooNi. " Doctor I brought this with me from the Copernicus, it's a two hour oxygen bottle your patient may need it. "

Tamaska was so froze in shock then she shook herself. "Brodie that is a good idea, Some one said there were pods that came from the Copernicus? I am hoping so. Yes, lets proceed to our various assignment I had mentioned. I hope and pray that there are survivors." her voice sounding rather wooden

"Wait what? We're still going to look for someone who might already be dead....while our crew is out there possibly dying in those pods?" Adrian stared at them in disbelief.

Brodie looked squarely at Adrain. " Mr. Sage, I do nae know what they teach you in the science division at the academy, But we received a distress call and know that there be at least one survivor who WILL die if we don't respond. " He laid his hand on Adrain's shoulder. " Laddie, the best thing we can do is find out wat the bloody hell happened here, get this ship fixed and go after our people and rescue them. They've got food and water rations in those pods. What do ya say lad, will you help me help them?

Brodie looked down towards the floor and spoke in an unmistakable tone. " This be a survival matter folks, standard away team kits have three days of survival bars. We've got to get main power and life support online if we're to be any help to them out there, we'll be no use to anyone if we starve to death or suffocate. "

Tam looked at Brodie. "We will be alright, all of us will. We have to be. The Doctor and I have survived rather dire circumstances. I know we will do so again as well. Now lets get to business and keep in touch!" turning to head for the bridge. Turning back she looked at the others. "And Stoun, you do your magic that you do so well." Tamaska paused then stated. " Change of teams, Adams, you will go with Stoun, Sage you will come with me. I'm going to need you. "

Brodie grinned back at Tamaska. " Ma,am I'm a survival specialist, and I haven't given up hope yet. As long as we can get main power and life surrort, and there is a good store of protein matter in the replicator system we'll be fine. " He glanced out of the nearby window at the distant life pods. " And so will they. We just have to keep faith and hope alive. " He said matter of factly.

"Alright, let's get down to engineering Adams, shouldn't take much to get this thing fired up, though may not be for long." He patted the Ensign on the shoulder and nodded the opposite way down the corridor. "We've got Jeffries tubes to crawl through."

Taking the oxygen off Brodie, Mel followed Tamaska determined no one was going to die this time round.
