Hawkins and his group of engineers, the first wave beamed down to the Copernicus. When the shimmering color patterns of the transporter faded away, Michael stepped down from the platform to see who would be greeting them. He had heard that an Ensign L'johk Adams would be waiting for them, and there was a rather tall blond man who definitely who had at least six inches in stature than he.

"Greetings, I assume you are Ensign Adams?" the dark haired engineer said in greeting. "Operations, I see." walking over and holding out his hand to shake Adams.

Behind him filing off the pad were three others, two males and one female. "These are part of my engineering crew. Porthos, Ames and, "gesturing to the woman, "Mayhew."

Porthos had short dark brown hair, Ames was a red head and Mayhew who had mocha colored skin and black hair.

"Nice to meet you." Mayhew responded.

Ames walked up to shake the hand of Adams. "Hi, where will we start working?" flashing a smile.

"A pleasure to meet you all. You have no idea how glad we are to see you!"
Adams beamed at the first contingent of engineers from Andromeda and the supplies they had brought with them. Already it looked like more than they had secured in their engineering supply bay.

"If you will all follow me I'll take you down to Engineering."

Michael gave a nod, and walked alongside Adams.

Ames looked towards the operations officer. "We'll just go on ahead, we know where it is, we've looked at the schematics." the other two nodded.

Michael looked at the three and looked at Adams. "We can let them go on ahead, whilst you and I can chat about operations, I used to be Chief of Operations before I became Chief Engineer. Tell me about yourself." a friendly smile.

"Not much to tell sir. I'm just a happy go lucky guy who has a Klingon half" Adam's atypical wolfish grin blossoming across his features lighting up his face. "As for operations, its a small ship and we only have a handful of Operations Officers... The Captain hasn't found a Chief for the department yet so I'm standing in!"

He wanted to change the subject away from himself, never having been comfortable with talking about himself, something about his Klingon heritage created a fascination from people with him and how he coped with the gentle Human half and the raging Klingon half. The truth was his Human half was the more dominant and the rage only came out very rarely.
"What about the Andromeda... She's a fine ship. I've only ever been posted to smaller ships... Is it much different on that flying city of yours?"

"More things to possibly go wrong, just like any other ship. And more crew to keep in line." Michael laughed. "Nah don't get me wrong, several of my engineers are part of my theater and dance troupe. So they are a good bunch of people. As for you being part human and part Klingon. No big deal, I've got a really good friend, Klingon. His name is K'Rang. He's a Marine Captain on the station I had been on. Nice guy, trained me in both the mek'leth and the bat'leth. He found out that I knew a bit about blades and so, he trained me, and then I participated in the tournaments. I won and he won as well the bet he had made with a rival." grinning.

"Cool" L'johK exclaimed in a most unklingon like way with a big goofy grin painting his features. "My Klingon half is a little more submissive to my human temperament... which has always struck me as being a little odd!"
They rounded a corner and a large set of double doors beckoned them forward as they approached. "Here you go Lieutenant... Chief Stoun should be about someplace!"

Jon was sitting in his office drinking a cup of coffee when he saw the contingent walk in. He stood up, straightened his uniform, and walked out into the bay to greet the crew. "Hello, I'm Chief Stoun, welcome to the Copernicus."

Michael turned to Adams, "Thank you and I hope we can talk more about bat'leth, later." then he directed his attention to Stoun. "Thank you for the welcome, looking at the powerfully built chief engineer. "We brought over some gifts, especially this" handing Stoun the Cochrane Coil alignment. "I told you I'd do this." giving a laugh. "Introduce me to your crew, if you don't mind."

Jon smiled as he grabbed the tool. "Thanks! I may be able to get a bit of sleep tonight after I get the damn things adjusted!"

While the two chiefs were making their introductions, Amalia caught sight of Adams and had a small smile on her lips. Mentally shaking her head she went back to what was at hand.

Michael introduced the crew that came with him. "This is Ames." introducing the engineer who had dark reddish brown hair. "He's the one who's my right hand man."

Riley just shrugged, it was no big deal to him.

"This is Mayhew." the woman who had darker hued skin smiled and waved.

"And this is Porthos." introducing the other dark haired individual. Porthos gave a nod. He then gave a slight smile to the others.

"Let's see, Lieutenant G'Rani" He pointed to the Assistant Chief "Once saw her bend a piece of conduit right in half to make an improved structural support., That's Sato over there, she can single-handedly realign the warp coils with her eyes closed."

He looked around a little more. "Darcy there, I once saw her improvise the goo in a gel pack from a bottle of tequila and field ration, the ship was a bit out of it for a few days but it did feel much better about itself, and that is Adams, can fight ten Nausicans without breaking a sweat. We've got a great team here."

Adams couldn't help but laugh as he added to the Chief introductions. "They don't trust me with anything engineering, I just lift heavy things!"

"Is that so?" Mayhew responded giving Adam's the once over. "I'm sure you can do more than that." giving a flirtatious wink.

Darcy gave Mayhew a bit of a sharp glance, her eyes narrowing just ever so slightly. She felt the heat of jealousy rising up. Who did this person think she was?

Michael went around to shake the engineers hands he was introduced to, a bit taken aback by G'Rani. "Nice to meet you." then moved over towards Sato as well. He did note that Darcy was giving Mayhew a bit of a look and may not be one of amicable nature. He moved close to Mayhew saying quietly, "a word of warning don't get yourself into too much trouble here. We're here to help not cause more damage here." he stepped back.

Mayhew just gave Hawskins a puzzled look, not catching on.

Hawkins could only just shake his head at this.

"Well, where do ya'll want to get started? We've patched as much together as we can to keep things from sparking." Jon looked at the assembled mass of engineers. "There is more gold uniforms here than I've seen in a while."

Hawkins laughed, "Guess you've struck the motherlode, Chief. And I am certain there will be more coming over to help out. Its a call to arms"

Ames piped up, "Just let us loose and we'll get to work!"

"Alright, well." He looked at the group. "I don't know if we'll all fit, but lets get it. I'll have one of each of my engineers walk your teams around and show you what we've got going on. Probably get it knocked out real quick."

Minka had yet to speak taking in all the extra people. Lieutenant Hawkins was as good looking in person as his bio it seemed. “I’ll start with the warp coils if you want? Thank you for all coming and bringing goodies,” she added.

Hawkins looked at Sato then looked at Chief Stoun. "Your ship, you've got say so in where ya want us. This is your territory." smiling. "I know, we can just volunteer but as I said, and your engineers get to take their pick. Good enough?"

"Sounds good to me." Stoun went to his office and grabbed a stack of Padds. "Here are some lists of things that need repaired."

Michael took them and passed them around. "Okay so whom will I be going with any takers?" he asked, looking at the Copernicus crew.

"You can come with me sir," Minka got in first knowing the other females were likely to be wanting him with them. She gave a rare smile. Usually she looked demure and sulkish in the corner.

"Well, then it looks like we'll be working together, then Ensign Sato." Michael smiling, and giving a nod. "So take me to the warp coils then."

Mayhew took another look out towards where the cute operations officer was at or had been, "Um shouldn't we be also having Operations work with us too?" looking back at Stoun, and having an innocent smile as well.

"Yeah go ahead, operations is an integral part of well operations." The Chief smiled. "Hey look, as long as we can get the ship moving at optimal speed, I don't care who does what, hell get the botanists down here to sweet talk the gel packs and a counselor to work out the manifolds issues."

"That could be difficult sir, he's in sickbay," Minka deadpanned.

Stoun turned and smiled at Minka. "Just a bit of hyperbole there. Alright, we all have our orders. Let's get to it"

With one accord the engineers of the Andromeda went with the engineers of the Copernicus, and went to work.
